The best solution is to switch from debt-based fiat to PM-backed real money.

Maybe the out-of-control federal government should have controlled itself sooner.

US has already defaulted. Twice.
In 1933 the US owed you an ounce of gold when you had $20. After the default, the US only paid you about 5/8 an ounce of gold for that $20.
In 1971 the US owed you an ounce of gold when you had $35. After the default, the US wouldn’t give you any gold for that $35.

Hear! Hear!
Dump the un-Constitutional ‘departments’, too.
Pass amendment requiring Balanced Budget.
Dump the Income tax for the Fair Tax model.

A US debt default could spark mass unemployment, payment failures, and catastrophe that would raise interest rates 'into perpetuity,' Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warns promises.

What does unlimited debt increases do?
And by the way, neat trick. Not getting an increase in your credit card limit is “debt default”?

There are economic problems brewing & percolating throughout the international economic system.
Yellen is trying to get ahead of the curve, while looking for a political scapegoat.
It won’t matter, economic pain is coming regardless of the hot air espoused by Yellen.

Massively cut government spending and shutter a vast majority of government so it can no longer be used against Americans. There is a clear choice. Either we shutter government and send lazy ass government employees to the unemployment line or we send hard working Americans that really pay the bills to the unemployment line.
Do you want to reward those that never built a damn thing or those that do? The vast majority of people working for government do not work for the American people. These selfish pieces of chit work for themselves. They are the deep state. They never built a damn thing. They are leaches that get in the way of the productive. They are the real enemy of America.
Cutting spending and shuttering will solve the nation’s financial problems, increase freedom, decrease tyranny and force government scum bags to work in the private sector and actually contribute to society, even if that means they have to learn to say, "Do you want fries with that?"
