Presidents Joe Biden and Yoon Suk Yeol on Wednesday will sign an agreement that includes plans to have U.S. nuclear-armed submarines dock in South Korea for the first time in more than 40 years, a conspicuous show of support to Seoul amid growing concern about nuclear threats by North Korea, according to senior Biden administration officials. The planned dock visits are a key element of what’s being dubbed the “Washington Declaration,” aimed at deterring North Korea from carrying out an attack on its neighbor.

I just bet we are. S Korea probably demanded it because Biden is going to dump Ukraine and move on to Taiwan. I wonder if Nuland is over in Taiwan yet?

Fake New!

I personally was on a US submarine that docked in South Korea less than 30 years ago.

Are we talking nuclear *powered*...or “boomers”? Just about all of our subs are nuclear powered.

I’m surprised we have any operational subs left under Biden.

Biden is going to dump Ukraine and move on to Taiwan.

First off, Biden is simply not capable of managing any kind of serious conflict, much less a two front war. He’ll look for a way to back out of both crises IMO.

Those people are totally incompetent in these matters. That is why they are so dangerous. They are arrogant and stupid with big bullying mouths and it appears they act out of that arrogance too. They will simply do anything.

When and where are our Nuclear Subs the most vulnerable?

Let South Korea and Japan develop their own nukes.

Did a port call there in about 1982 as part of a WestPac on USS Flasher SSN613, although I forget the name of the port. Sorry for the nostalgia, non Navy guys.

I get what you’re saying but a conflict with a nuclear power isn’t the same thing as going into Afghanistan or some other third world country. Nobody knows where this might go and the risk of it spiraling out of control is absolutely enormous. This is a whole new ball game and Biden is not even on the field of play. In fact he doesn’t know where the ballpark is.

He’ll fold like the empty suit that he is because he has no ability whatsoever to lead this country into a conflict. And then he’ll take credit for “averting a destructive and catastrophic war” while an adoring media praises him for courageously protecting humanity.

I hope you are right but it isn’t Biden running anything. He is an old boob and a puppet. The people behind him are Obama and I think they are the arrogant stupid ones. Very dangerous times.

Yes he’s just the puppet; others pull the strings and write his script. His handlers are crazy but watch them freeze in the face of real conflict, totally unwilling to take responsibility when all the marbles are at stake. Like bureaucrats everywhere, they will dodge, evade and blame others when the SHTF.

I think it's interesting. The Navy is artillery among other great things (air support and many other things), so the Navy is absolutely important to soldiers. Their missions and lives depend on the Navy. And it's true, that journalists and editors often don't do enough searching before posting errors in headlines, especially contemporary journalists and editors.
