The murder rates in major US Cities have soared more than 10% in the past two years — with most homicides occurring in Democratic areas with soft-on-crime policies.
In a study released by WalletHub Wednesday, researchers found that Memphis, Tennesse; New Orleans, Louisana; Richmond, Virginia; Washington, DC; and Detroit, Michigan are suffering from the biggest homicide rate problems.
All five cities are led by left-wing mayors.
After comparing the rise in murder rates in 45 of the country’s most populated cities between 2021 and 2023, scholars noticed that killings were rising faster in Democrat-led cities than in their Republican counterparts.
Though the Covid-19 pandemic can be blamed for the initial jump in homicides, scholars theorized that soft-on-crime policing has exacerbated the issue in progressive cities.

No arrests, no prosecutions, no imprisonments. There is no functioning justice. Many of the killings are revenge killings by the aggrieved. That is the only “justice” available to them. Elite Democrats could not care less if minorities kill each other.
The democrats will not be happy until it’s over 50%
Rats killing Rats. More please!
Increased crime rates: If criminals perceive that there are no serious consequences for their actions, they may be more likely to commit crimes. This can lead to higher crime rates in communities and decreased public safety.
Public perception of injustice: Soft on crime policies may be perceived as unjust by some members of the public who believe that offenders should be punished more severely.
Lack of deterrent effect: If criminals do not believe that they will face serious consequences for their actions, then the punishment may not serve as a deterrent to future criminal behavior.
Overcrowding of prisons: If fewer offenders are incarcerated or sentenced to long prison terms, then the prison system may become overcrowded, which can lead to increased costs, safety concerns, and decreased effectiveness of rehabilitation programs.
Undermining victims' rights: If the focus is solely on the rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders, then the needs and rights of victims may be overlooked.
Reduced accountability: If punishments for criminal behavior are perceived as too lenient or insufficient, then the criminal justice system may be seen as lacking accountability for offenders.
Increased criminal justice costs: If offenders are not punished or incarcerated, then the costs of providing alternative forms of rehabilitation or treatment may be higher than traditional incarceration.
Decreased law enforcement morale: If police officers feel that their efforts to catch and prosecute criminals are being undermined by lenient policies, then their morale and job satisfaction may be affected.
Political backlash: Soft on crime policies can be a controversial political issue, and policymakers who advocate for such policies may face criticism or opposition from those who believe in harsher punishment for offenders.
Perceived unfairness: If some offenders are punished less severely than others, or if some groups are perceived to receive more lenient treatment than others, then the public may view the criminal justice system as unfair or biased.
Cities can’t not report murder - as they do other crimes which the Soros-funded DAs refuse to prosecute.
They can tell us “crime has gone down” for other crimes (which it hasn’t) - but they cannot fudge numbers for murders.
Voting for a Democrat can kill you.
I find the NYPOST running articles about this almost everyday rather puzzling. I mean, you know....it’s the NYPOST, i.e., it’s in NYC. Who’s their audience? There’s no Rebpublicans left in NYC. It’s an entirely Democrat jurisdiction like Chicago and they consistently vote for these policies. Look at what they elected in Chicago as the new Mayor.
They vote FOR these policies because they like the results of these policies. Crime without repercussions. Why? Probably because the Democrat constituents who vote for these Mayors and their policies have family members and relatives in the prison system. They vote to get them out of prison.....pre-crime!
So again...I honestly don’t understand who the NYPOST thinks their target audience is.
Indeed note history
Let’s take a look at the demographics of said cities while we’re at it. Wonder if there’s any correlation.
I guess it’s a coincidence.
unexpected.
But, but, but . . .
How can that be? These cities have heavy gun control . . .
