I’m not quite sure whether the bill is totally dead or not, because nothing is until the legislature adjourns. We do know that the GOP managed to get the language normalizing pedophilia stripped out of the bill in a vote yesterday.
Whether the language comes back or not, it is clear is that the pressure is on and the Chief Author of the bill is feeling the heat and the Republicans in the Minnesota House, who apparently hadn’t noted the change to the definition of “sexual orientation” to remove the exclusion for pedophilia, have grown a backbone.
First a reminder of what State Rep. Leigh Finke is trying to do. I described the bill in this post, so I will summarize the effort quickly.
The changes to the Minnesota Human Rights bill would redefine gender and strike a provision that specifically excluded attraction to minors as a sexual orientation, implicitly making pedophiles a protected class. Finke is claiming that was not the intent, but it is in both the bill and the bill description provided by Minnesota House Research.
The bill explicitly strikes the provision in current law that states: “Sexual orientation” does not include a physical or sexual attachment to children by adults.” This, in plain language, means that if this amendment to the law passes then “Sexual orientation” may include a physical or sexual attachment to children by adults.
Pretty obvious, right? Not hard to see the intent, and the bill description by House Research makes it clear: “sections removed that allow for discrimination based on sexual orientation.” This means pedophilia will now be considered a sexual orientation that is protected.
Q.E.D.
Finke rightly points out that pedophilic acts would remain illegal, but that is not the point. Pedophiles themselves will be protected from discrimination.
The bill also repeals provisions that allow nonprofits to discriminate based on beliefs and prevent sex differentiation.
The following Minnesota statutes are being repealed:
Meaning that boys and girls clubs, 4H, and all sorts of other groups can longer keep individuals in protected classes out based on sex, gender, or sexual orientation. Meaning that pedophiles as a protected class would have a right to be Boy and Girl Scout leaders and counselors, for instance. I am not clear on what churches can or cannot due. First Amendment considerations would surely exclude them.
I hope.
In any case, it’s pretty clear what the law does and is intended to do. It removes a provision that excludes pedophilia from the definition of “sexual orientation.” Period. Suddenly pedophilia becomes a sexual orientation, as the bill description makes clear.
Finke is now playing the victim:

I certainly hope that nobody has threatened his life, which is unconscionable. I have my doubts, of course, since for people on the Left the standard for that is very low. Like saying “you are wrong” or “what you are doing is despicable” is a death threat. But I concede that people get very passionate about protecting kids and somebody might, in fact, have said despicable things themselves. I don’t condone that.
There was never a controversy, but it didn’t matter. The lie exploded into a whirlwind of hate intended to hurt me.
And it worked! Congratulations. I’m left hurt, and scared. People I thought were kind, showed otherwise. I can’t changed that. We can only move forward.

But Finke deserves every bit of criticism for what he is proposing and for what the Democrats are trying to put into law. If there wasn’t a controversy, it was because nobody understood what the changes meant. At least the Republicans didn’t, but our efforts changed that in a hot minute.
Finke’s measure, according to one Minnesota House source, was incorporated into the Judiciary Policy omnibus bill slated to come up for consideration on the House Floor on Wednesday.
“Under the Human Rights Act, the definition of sexual orientation says that sexual orientation does not include physical or sexual attraction to children by an adult — or, more simply described, pedophilia. The Democrats’ decision to strike this language is disturbing and inexplicable,” GOP House Minority Leader Lisa Demuth said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“House Republicans will be presenting an amendment today to clarify that pedophilia is absolutely not a protected class under the Human Rights Act. We sincerely hope Democrats will join us in ensuring our children are protected,” Demuth added.
Additional provisions in the measure offered by Finke seek to enhance sexual orientation and gender identity protections in housing, as well as ensure that nonprofits abide by non-discrimination laws.
Good. Somebody needed a wake-up call and they got it.
Finke’s insistence that he is not aiming to sexualize kids rings very hollow because he in fact has been working to sexualize kids for a long time. He wrote a children’s book about being queer and discussed strategies on how to get it to kids secretly.
Leigh Finke has supported grooming children, specifically kids in churches, with both critical queer and critical gender theory since at least 2020

As I have been arguing the Left is desperate to normalize pedophilia. It isn’t even a question.
They will tell you otherwise because normal people recoil. But read the literature of the Left and what they say to each other and it is clear. I wrote about this yesterday in this post. The psychiatric profession is on board with normalizing pedophiles.
For that matter, it is a necessary consequence of their argument that kids as young as 8 are able to consent to sex-related medical treatments regardless of the parent’s wishes. In Canada, they are considering and likely to pass a law allowing “mature minors” to get euthanasia.
If you can kill yourself with state help, you surely can consent to sexual contact.
Pedophilia is coming, folks.

Just a minor stumbling block on the way to perdition. No worries! All Biden has to do is declare a national health emergency and WHO takes over and is in charge of these pesky medical issues. “Minor attracted adults” (other wise known as pedos) shall have their chance to indulge without (earthly) consequence. The Age of Enlightenment is just around the corner.
The Left is proficient at incrementalism. It all started decades ago with the simple request of "what I do in my bedroom is private." And here we are today...

And yet, they (so-called conservative legislators) are perfectly fine with homosexuality and transgenderism. Pedophilia? Oh, no! We can’t have THAT. But they have completely bought into the idea that whatever “consenting adults” do is perfectly fine, maybe even laudatory.
There are still millions upon millions of Americans who understand that homosexuality is both immoral and self destructive in a spiritual sense and disordered and unnatural in a scientific sense.
Tolerance is one thing, but mandating that employers hire people an employer fundamentally disagrees with (to represent that employer’s business), is fundamentally un-American. Seeking to silence anyone who doesn’t applaud homosexuality and transgenderism, calling such opposition hate speech, is also un-American. Many RINOs support both.

Wherever crime is decriminalized, the criminals will take over.
Same with pedophilia. If it becomes normalized, pedophiles will thrive, and even attract those kind of undesirables to the states where it’s decriminalized.
The bigger question is, will the parents of the targets of pedophilia remain in place or will they seek to move to areas where pedophilia is still a crime?
They’ll keep pushing it until they get it passed....they don’t care.

There is NO evil that man won’t ultimately do apart from God. Who would have thought we’d have the medical community intentionally destroying perfectly healthy young bodies for the transgender cult, but here we are!
Get rid of all sexual discrimination laws. The relations and interactions between persons based on sex is none of the state’s business.

At what point is force necessary? Biden stating “your kids aren’t yours”, then states trying to normalize Pedophilia. Standing by makes us just as guilty as children are raped by perverts...
