Poll: Trump Viewed More Favorably Than DeSantis

Republicans view former President Donald Trump more favorably than they do Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, the latest Morning Consult survey released Tuesday found.

The latest survey examining the current state of the 2024 Republican primary race shows the former president continuing to lead in terms of those who view him most favorably.

Overall, 79 percent of potential GOP primary voters view Trump favorably, compared to 20 percent who have an unfavorable view.

DeSantis comes in second place in terms of favorability, as 73 percent have a favorable view of the governor. Another 13 percent have an unfavorable view, and six percent said they have never heard of him. Additionally, eight percent said they have heard of him but have no opinion on the political figure, who is widely expected to launch a presidential bid soon after offering only vague and cryptic responses to inquiries on his political future.

Another 58 percent of potential GOP voters view former Vice President Mike Pence favorably, but 30 percent have an unfavorable view. His unfavorable number is second only to former Rep. Liz Cheney’s, as 52 percent view the pro-impeachment Republican unfavorably.

Forty-eight percent view former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley favorably, but 29 percent said they have never heard of her. Similarly, 39 percent have a favorable view of South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, who is expected to formally launch his presidential campaign later this month. Nonetheless, 31 percent said they have never heard of him.

The survey, which continued to show Trump with a dominant lead in the primary, also found 36 percent of Republican voters stating that they have seen, read, or heard something “negative” about Trump recently. Nineteen percent said the same of DeSantis.

No Way!(sarcasm)

We need a Big Leaguer from NYC in 2024, not a little leaguer from Florida.

I am starting to agree with many that DeSantis is being backed by the Bush Domain, and is assisted by Rove. They have the contacts to generate millions in donations and are assisted by Ryan at Fox (that is why Fox is pushing DeSantis). The motive? Suck in the MAGA Republicans and fool them with an alternative to Trump. In other words, Ryan knows how to manipulate real conservatives and is the king RINO of all time. Here is some early research: https://twitter.com/TrumpWarRoom/status/1640000173446250496 https://yournews.com/2023/03/27/2542935/analyst-says-the-bushes-are-running-desantis-presidential-campaign/ This makes a lot of sense to me. There has always been something that makes me uncomfortable with DeSantis. He jumped to the lead in Trump opposition so easily, just as Jeb Bush did, until Trump mowed him down.

one thing I have learned about polls, even ones that have a outcome I like.

They are ALL bull droppings and not to be trusted.

Wrong. Trumps polls are always going to lie in favor of his opponent. Always.

Ya. You’re right. People lack faith in Trump. I’ve never waivered since even before he announced in 2015.

I voted for Ron D the 3 times he ran. Trump
endorsed him and I followed Trump’s advice.

Ron has a problem he doesn’t keep promises.
My medicines are expensive and Ron said 5 years
ago he would import them from Canada at the prices
Canadians pay , he never did it.

Trump kept most every promise and I like that.

The way I see it is that Desantis is very strong on social issues, moreso than Trump. Trump is a bit better on economics. I don’t really have a read on Desantis with foreign policy yet, but that might’ve been Trump’s strongest thing.

To me, just me, I think social issues now are the bigger dividing factors between the Dems/Reps.

Economics should be more important, and likely will be if these bank failures and debt issues start to really hit the job numbers. I haven’t made up my mind on the primary yet, though I’ve voted for every time since he’s run.

No way DeSantis can do the job Trump did in 4 years but he’s good at the state level a few more years he may find out how it’s done Trump is a great teacher in leadership skills.
