VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — Pat Robertson, a religious broadcaster who turned a tiny Virginia station into the global Christian Broadcasting Network, tried a run for president and helped make religion central to Republican Party politics in America through his Christian Coalition, has died. He was 93.

Robertson’s death Thursday was announced by his broadcasting network. No cause was given.

Robertson’s enterprises also included Regent University, an evangelical Christian school in Virginia Beach; the American Center for Law and Justice, which defends the First Amendment rights of religious people; and Operation Blessing, an international humanitarian organization.

For more than a half-century, Robertson was a familiar presence in American living rooms, known for his “700 Club” television show, and in later years, his televised pronouncements of God’s judgment, blaming natural disasters on everything from homosexuality to the teaching of evolution.

We were just speaking about him a few days ago. My grandparents watched a lot of 700 Club when they became home bound.

REALLY? My story is different, JESUS made Religion relevant to my Political Views Not Pat Robertson. If it was Not for Jesus and His saving grace, it would not matter to me.

why don’t you explain it to us? Since you apparently know things that we in the general public don’t know.

...who helped make religion central to GOP politics...

The Democrats have a central religion too. It's called Satanism.

Well, they practice atheism.

Actually, their “religion” is The Environment, and Diversity. Recently, COVID Hysteria.

And we’re all made to follow it. It’s presumed everywhere.

As far as satanism, they don’t specifically practice that - they just inherently support it.

The elites do practice Satanism—behind closed doors.

You are looking at the symptoms and not the disease.

Tongue in cheek. I wouldn’t say that - they probably think “there’s no god” which means Satan would be a god and cannot exist.

To say a few really do practice satanism/witchcraft - absolutely. But in reality, on a whole no.

The problem is, as with all things, they enable terrible things at least, and abet them and often commit them.

Honestly, he indeed have been a great man of God. However, in the last 10 years of his life, he said some things that really made people cringe.

Thankfully, he’s now at Home with his Lord and Savior.
