Republicans set to push mail ballots, voting methods they previously blasted as recipes for fraud

ATLANTA -- After years of criticizing mail voting and so-called ballot harvesting as ripe for fraud, Republicans at the top of the party want to change course.

They are poised to launch aggressive get-out-the-vote campaigns for 2024 that employ just those strategies, attempting to match the emphasis on early voting Democrats have used for years to lock in many of their supporters well ahead of Election Day. The goal is to persuade voters who support GOP candidates that early voting techniques are secure and to make sure they are able to return their ballots in time to be counted, thus putting less pressure on Election Day turnout efforts.

It marks a notable shift from the party's rhetoric since 2020, when then-President Donald Trump was routinely sowing doubt about mail voting ....

Fat Lady McDaniel is always a year or two behind. The Ds are already working on texting in their votes.

Don’t worry, I’m sure Bill Gates is developing a way to “think” your vote.

They are recipes for fraud. But the courts, in abtaining from their duties, have essentially ruled that fraud is allowed now.

I’d still say most would argue it’s ripe for fraud. But the outcome from 2020 has been that it’s allowed because those in position to put a stop to it have turned a blind eye to it and implicitly given it their blessing. So why not?

We will never be able as conservatives to out-Left the Left.

Won’t do it. I hear all the time, we should go all in on ballot harvesting, mail in ballots, embrace it all.

We won’t cheat, and if we do, we won’t do it well. They will cheat, have every intention of doing so, and are dedicated to it and good at it.

I just don’t buy it when I hear conservatives say this. Saying “we can’t change it, so we should accept it” is surrender.

I heard Trump say we should ballot harvest too, but even though I support him, I part ways with him on this.

Ballot harvesting IS ripe for fraud. But it's not going away - it's legal in multiple states. The Republicans must be in the ballot-harvesting business or they will never win the WH again, and will lose Congressional contests they could win. It's a tribute to the stupidity and laziness of the Republicans and Ronna McDaniels that they stood by and did nothing to compete in ballot-harvesting in 2020 or 2022. They must compete in 2024.

And every left wing group will be filing lawsuits against anyone working for them for election fraud and voter suppression.

They don’t get it. There are two systems of justice in America, one for Republicans and the other for Democrats. They’re all going to end up in court and going to jail if they try this.

Saying “we can’t change it, so we should accept it” is surrender.

Going into an election fight with one hand tied behind your back is surrender. That's what Republicans have done in the last two national elections.

Exactly. Democrats dominate mail voting and early voting and they don't want Republicans to get into the game.

Trump was in idiot for discouraging mail voting in 2020.

If I ran my household and finances like these corrupt professional class lawyer politicians do the country, I’d lose everything, I’d be broke and be living in a tent under a freeway overpass.

Those who cast illegal votes by mail can be charged with the federal crime of mail fraud.... that is, whenever the Department of Treason switches back to the Department of Justice.

“...attempting to match the emphasis on early voting Democrats have used for years...”

“Emphasis”?

“early voting”?

“used for years”?

Republicans can’t match what the Democrats have been doing for years because every single one of them would be and would have been sent up the river for 20+ years for even trying it one time.

This kind of euphemistic language used by so-called “mainstream” media outlets is maddening in the extreme.

And while democrats can do it openly and freely. Just watch what will happen to republicans under the fixed media and justice system.
