Low-flying military aircraft surprise Bay Area suburbs ahead of Biden visit

Ahead of President Joe Biden’s trip to the Bay Area, low-flying military aircraft have been spotted in the suburbs.

Residents of Marin County were surprised to see MV-22 Ospreys and Sikorsky White Hawk helicopters in the area Friday. At least five aircraft did maneuvers around the area, including in Larkspur, before heading off. But there’s no need to worry about an impending ground invasion: They’re likely here because Biden arrives in the Bay Area on Monday.

Biden will be on a fundraising blitz among wealthy California Democrats. On Monday, he’ll be the guest of honor at a reception hosted at the Atherton home of venture capitalist Steve Westly and his wife Anita Yu. The Bay Area News Group, which saw an invitation to the event, reports the get-in-the-door price is $6,600 per person. Next, Biden will hop over to Los Gatos for another fundraiser hosted by Microsoft Chief Technology Officer Kevin Scott, his wife Shannon Hunt-Scott and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, Reuters reports.
