The American Medical Association (AMA) is now discouraging the use of body mass index (BMI), calling it an "imperfect" and "problematic" means of assessing body fat and claiming it has been used for "racist exclusion."

They must have been basing BMI on the population of Sudan, or something. I’m an inch or two (depends on time of day) shy of 6’, and BMI told me my ideal weight is 130 lbs.
Even when I was skin and bones while going through my first round of chemo, I was still 30-40 pounds above that ridiculous number.
