More Detransitioner horror stories emerge

They’re the stories that you’re not supposed to talk about in today’s woke society lest the trans activists swoop in and have you canceled for “hate speech” or whatever. Gender-confused children and many adults are “transitioning” in record numbers and bringing in a fortune for the medical industry in the process. But what happens to those who come to regret their decision and want to return to their natural gender? They are the detransitioners, and it happens more than you might suspect if you only listen to the mainstream media. Most of their stories are tragic, but also very educational if we’re ever going to find a way to offer better help – actual help – to people dealing with gender confusion issues. Caroline Downey at National Review has been collecting and publishing the stories of many of these people, and while they can be difficult to read, they demonstrate some tragic patterns that may help others in the future. One of the latest and possibly most tragic is the tale of 19-year-old “Evie.” Suffering severe abuse at home and dealing with multiple mental health challenges, she was steered into the transition pipeline and it nearly cost her her life. Evie suffered sexual abuse at the hands of her alcoholic father from a very early age. It would continue until he eventually took his own life. At the age of 11, she was first taken to a clinic that treated severely emotionally disturbed children. It was there that a “therapist” first suggested to her that she might be gender dysphoric and that such a situation was “normal.” It had never once occurred to Evie that she might be a boy until they put the thought into her head.

Within a few months, she had “come out” to her mother, saying she wished to be called “Evan” and use male pronouns. That didn’t fix anything in her life and she was soon in treatment for self-harm, including cutting herself. She was put on Prozac. She abandoned her masculine identity after a few months.

Evie was in and out of various clinics, in-patient facilities, and group homes for the rest of her childhood. She wound up being convinced to “transition” a total of three times while being treated for a variety of mental and emotional health issues. By 16, she was on testosterone and another doctor encouraged her to have a mastectomy, which she did in 2021.

Read the rest of her story at the link above if you can stomach it, but we should also consider this tragic tale for what it clearly represents. Yet again, we see a person who had never questioned their gender until an adult suggest it to them. She was clearly suffering from severe mental illness triggered by the abuse she suffered as a child. She desperately needed care for those mental health issues, but was instead convinced that her problems would go away if she became a boy. How on Earth could any actual medical professional think that this is a legitimate path to healing?

Now Evie’s body is forever changed because of the surgery and the hormones and other drugs. She will never be able to go back to being fully normal, but she is at least living as a woman again and trying to help others. Caroline Downey has more stories like Evie’s in the collection I linked above. They’re all tragic, but if they wind up helping other children going through the same type of pain, perhaps it will have been worth it.

Ya know, I sort of hate telling about stuff like this because the people involved are likely still alive and many of them are focused with laser-like precision on what I’m doing right freaking now, as in this very moment. This stuff is nothing new and that includes “de-transitioning.” This person was - I’m sorry to say - a former member of the US Military.

DISCLAIMER: I am a big fan of the US Military and when I was a child I infuriated my parents and teachers by saying I wanted to be in the Military. However, that was not to be and it’s probably all for the best because I suck at dealing with authority figures and following orders. I have received a bad rap as someone who is anti-soldiers because of stuff like the following story, but the truth is I am still a big supporter and fan of the US Military in spite of the way I’ve been treated by a few of them and having dealt with some who were 100% crazy and out of their minds, unfortunately.

Anyway this dude “changed genders” in his 20s - in the 1980s - then decided he DIDN’T want to be a gal, after all, so had his revision undone (I guess it didn’t include “bottom surgery”....?) Then later he decided he wanted to be a gruff-talking, burly, big-t1tt1ed “woman” so he changed PARTLY and so when I met him in the early 2000s he was like this 6’ tall, broad-shouldered dude with long, frizzy, bad-looking hair, a 5 o’clock shadow, a gruff, booming voice, and 38D b00bs. He said he was a “lesbian” and lived with a biological woman who was his “wife.” He was abrupt, forceful, and aggressive - later developing into HOSTILE - in speech and mannerisms.

I only communicated briefly with this person and met him at his home one time. He was rude, in my face, and got creepier as the evening wore on. He bragged that men in bars would always make passes at him - sort of like he was claiming that I, a biological female, was fuglier and less desirable to biological males than he was. Okay, dude, whatever. Right? I realize I’m no daisy in the “charming the pants off men” department, but neither have I spent thousands out of my own pocket - or as in his case, thousands of $$$ of taxpayer funding - so that I could look like a man and then change my mind about it and get surgerized back, and then change my mind about it AGAIN. (Call me crazy.)

(And isn’t the frequent changing-of-the-mind stuff supposed to be part of FEMALE PRIVILEGE....???!!!!)

This has been going on for a long time, is my point. It had been going on for a long time when I first noticed it in 2003 or whenever that was.

Did it sneak up on you? or was it perhaps that you had already noticed it, but were kind of, sort of IN DENIAL about it? (Using the editorial “you” here, not talking about anyone on FR, of course.)

I think a lot of it is political, too. Crazy, crazy, crazy that men should find it expedient in terms of their political....I guess we’ll call them “goals,” to get their joysticks removed.

Do you remember in the old days when the guys who conquered your land would barge into your village at the worst possible time to kill all the adult males and castrate the boys.....? No.....?

Just a passing thought. This transgender s##t all really started being pushed by governments, and schools, and really intensified during the last couple years. Hmmmm, what else happened in the last couple years? I know this sounds crazier to most people than the flat earth theory, but could it be that a lot of people’s injections were lets say “not quite the same” as others? Don’t try to brush it off by saying that the governments of the world would never do such a thing. The WEF would love nothing better than to find a preferably non violent way to reduce the world’s population. What better way than to make a large, “and growing” population of young people of child bearing age either “transgender” or “queer” and thereby rendering them as infertile, or just uninterested in breeding with the opposite sex. All the expensive disfiguring operations and necessary lifetime use of big pharma drugs would just be icing on the cake. Remember these world elites think in the long term.

Us and Gen-Z are the target groups. Thanks to our comfortable lifestyles and lack of struggle, it’s easy to convince a lot of us that there’s covert danger around every corner from “those people” (i.e: everyone here at FR) when that’s not the case. Thankfully, Milennials are waking up to the bullsh¡t.

That being said, my first girlfriend wound up being driven into the tranny craze when she moved to California, thanks to her new girlfriend (you do that math). We were 14 when she moved, so we agreed to split and see other people but stay friends. That lasted until we were maybe 17.

First, this new girl gets her into “Furry” stuff, which weirded me out enough. This new girlfriend got her to adopt a new name and a, “fursona” as a male wolf. From there, it gets worse, and knowing that I had a lot of health problems, she asks me for help finding a way to pay for a mastectomy. I told her I wouldn’t. That’s where things ended.

She was a genuinely cute, nice girl, but she had lived with her godfather while we were together because she lost both of her parents in a car wreck. She was chronically depressed and occasionally suicidal, which sounds oddly familiar now, doesn’t it? Looking back, I wonder if there was abuse happening that she never told me about.

In any case, my life is better without her chaos in it, but I sometimes wonder if she’s okay. Last I’d heard, she had the surgery, paid for by the state of California (in 2004).

Perhaps off the subject a bit but in the 80’s I worked in a construction union in NYC.

I was on a renovation job on the corner of 6th. and 42nd.

There was an electrician, a Jewish man who was a Holocaust survivor.

He was a somewhat quiet and dour man. Not prone to being sociable. One day he and I were in the elevator lobby of the building and it was summer. He had a short sleeve shirt on.

I'll never when he stretched out his left arm and there on the inside of his left arm, the one he pressed the elevator button with were numbers. I could make out a seven in the style that Europeans configure it. A standard number seven but with a line through it. I remember seeing a seven and two number fours and I couldn't make out the others because at that moment he turned and looked at me and I didn't want to appear rude as if I were staring at me. To see a human being numbered like an animal or a piece of property was shocking.
