Cutting electricity production , for a fish species pushed to extinction by foreign fishing factory ships off our coast.
Stupid.
Awesome eh? Fidiots!
What fish species is that?
They should have called Russia. Would be gone (downstream) in 24 hours or less....
“””Cutting electricity production , for a fish species pushed to extinction by foreign fishing factory ships off our coast.”””
When I saw the thread headlines, this was my thought exactly.
All the dams in the world can be destroyed and there will not be enough salmon to fight against the Asian fishing fleets that our destroying the world’s fish stocks.
a 27 megawatt powerhouse
Lets hear it for destroy our energy infrastructure, at the
same time setting up policy that demands a 500-1000 percent
need for more energy.
Hope people have some great walking shoes.
Go ahead. Tear down civilization. Have a field day.
I've lived in the PNW all my life and believe me, we have been very poor stewards of the salmon fishery.
Wrong. Electricity produced was too costly to compete with other forms of electric supply. And salmon is nowhere near extinct. Your facts here are garbage. ,
Love Klamath.. that was a great vacation.
You never hear them talk about the “carbon footprint “ in stories like this.
We need energy, so let’s demolish hydroelectric plants. Environmentalists are crazy.
Good. Now do Hetch Hetchy in California.
Well they might as well remove it since they have all the electricity and water they will ever need anyway. Just don’t let them buy power off of our grid.
These insane libs will wonder why they have floods and no power for their EVs.
The “foreign fishing factory ships off our coast” are actually seals, sea lions and birds. All of which prey on salmon out going and returning. These critters have become burgeoned into a huge prey factor since they were deemed “endangered” and “cute” by the know-nothing public.
Plus, very poor salmon management by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife which not only uses bad biology, but politics in its management.
Like Washington State, they manage for release numbers, not return numbers of salmon. This looks good on paper and poor returns can be blamed on other factors - usually commercial fishermen “overfishing” - something which is impossible since they are strictly managed to a ODFW quota. Now, the move may be to blame another scapegoat: “foreign fishing factory ships”.
The actual culprits are the Endangered Species Act and the ODFW. Same for Washington State & California. Only Alaska manages salmon stocks correctly.
He. who controls the water, controls the people-UN Agenda 21.
That is why they are pushing to tear down the dams in WA State. The irony of it is that their stupid excuse is to protect the salmon. But then they want to replace the lost electric power with off shore windmills, which will kill the whales and probably drive away the the salmon.
They can’t have it both ways.
You did good buddy.
May the Lord hold you in the palm of His hand. Amen
