According to recent research, transgender people are significantly more likely to commit suicide than their peers.
Using Denmark's centralized data repository, the new study discovered that the rate at which transgender people attempted suicide is 770% higher than non-transgender people. Transgender people also actually died as a result of the suicide attempts at a 350% higher level than non-transgender persons.
Dr. Morten Frisch, a sexual health epidemiologist at the Statens Serum Institute in Copenhagen and co-author of the study, told The New York Times, “This is beyond doubt a huge problem that needs to be looked at,” Suicide word cloud

His team identified nearly 3,800 transgender individuals in Denmark using hospital records and applications for legal gender changes in order to investigate the issue. between the years 1980 and 2021. The actual rates of death and suicide are most probably much higher. The United States and Denmark have comparable suicide rates, so the findings may also apply to the United States, as noted by the researchers.
"These surveys tend to include much broader swaths of trans individuals, and we cannot be as certain that our results are equally problematic for the broader group," said Frisch.
In other countries, such as the United States, where transgender people and others have been targeted by laws restricting bathroom access, gender-related medical care, and drag performances, the findings may indicate an even higher risk of suicide among LGBTQ individuals. The Times quoted Ann Haas, an emeritus professor at the City University of New York who has studied suicide risk among LGBTQ persons for two decades, as saying, "This offers a stark rebuttal to some of those political arguments suggesting that suicide risk in these groups is exaggerated."
The Danish study also found that there was a 600% higher rate of mental illness amongst transgender individuals compared to non-transgender individuals.
“Trans people face widespread poverty, widespread discrimination, they’re more likely to experience homelessness, they’re overrepresented in our nation’s prison system, our nation’s foster care system,” Gillian Branstetter, the communications strategist at the American Civil Liberties Union focusing on transgender rights, stated to the Times. “That material lack has very real consequences on their lives, up to and including early deaths.”
The findings appeared in the Journal of the American Medical Association on June 27.

This statement is absolutely useless with they word probably included in it. That is nothing more than someone's conclusion, not science.
Bottom line these people need counseling, not reassignment surgery. When they become of adult age, they are free to make their decision, but not as children. There is a reason children are not allowed to participate in a contract. Same thing applies here to life changing surgeries.

That headline makes no sense. Are they saying that 170% of the increased number of trannies who commit suicide are not mentally ill???
They have been counseled and this is the result.

Could it be because down deep they are campaigning for medical care unique to their situation to be covered by insurance or the government.
It doesn’t shorten existence by one eon ... but of course existence like that isn’t any sort of life.
Transgender people are actually a very sick people, are mentally ill, crying out for help. And those in the psychiatric community turn their backs on them and refuse to treat them.

There are some trans folks in a community I monitor. It's mind boggling how terrified they are of Trump and of Republicans in general. They feel like Republican run states are worse than Nazi Germany and that those of us who disagree are comparable to the non-Jews: it doesn't impact us, so we don't understand.
A disgusting comparison, if I've ever heard one. Jews aren't mentally ill. Thinking you're a gender you're not and wanting to reverse it chemically or even lop off your sexual organs is mental illness.

What’s even sadder, is that we as a society, instead of encouraging these confused souls to seek mental help, we instead celebrate and enable their delusions to the point of letting them run the society, thus making society itself delusional.
