Chinese Spy Balloon Did Not Gather Data Over US: Pentagon

The Chinese spy balloon shot down by a US fighter jet over the Atlantic in February did not collect intelligence as it flew across the United States, the Pentagon said on Thursday (Jun 29).
"It's been our assessment now that it did not collect while it was transiting the United States or overflying the United States," said Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder.
Ryder said the US "took steps to mitigate" intelligence collection by the balloon. "Certainly the efforts we made contributed" to that, Ryder said, without further explanation.

In other words, it gathered LOTS of sensitive military data, and phoned home.
And Hunter was on a call with his Chinese contact, and wondering where the spy balloon payout was - "Because The Big Guy is sitting right here with me!".

They waited to splash it down in the Ocean so that all the electronics would be damaged, and the evidence destroyed. That is what I know. There no reason at all that such a balloon would be going on a joy ride. All we get now are lies.
