What SCOTUS’ affirmative action ruling could mean for DEI and the business of corporate wokeness
NYPost ^ | 7/1/23 | Charles Gasparino

f you want to know why a transgender media influencer in a bubble bath appears in a Bud Light ad; why big companies shell out money for radical, Marxist charities like Black Lives Matter; or why de-facto racial hiring quotas exist under the euphemism of “diversity,” you need to know something about the business of “DEI.”

It’s the acronym for the nearly $10 billion Diversity, Equity and Inclusion industry.

It’s part of every large company’s ecosystem these days, enforced through increasingly progressive corporate HR departments that have distorted the term diversity to mean endless pride celebrations at the office, and de facto racial quotas in hiring and promotion.

If you think that sounds un-American, and downright strange as a corporate priority, you’re not alone.

Could the Court's rulings have an effect on reducing the number of DIE departments in corporations? Let's hope so.

We can hope but I doubt it. The Court's decision was rather narrow in that it applied to academic institutions and focused on race being a sole determining factor in admissions. The door was left open for other criteria to be used in the selection process. The corporate world will only change when their policies hurt their bottom line.

It will not supercede the CMS mandate to pay teaching hospital, university hospitals to hand out more cash to them for these students.
Thanks to McCarthy and the republicans they got the money from your pocket they wanted.

I received an invite to attend a company meeting where the first part will feature a DEI spiel. Harvard and the rest of academia is vowing to find a loop hole. Corporations in general are having their HR and PR groups put out statements that they remain committed to diversity. A friend of mine sent me one from Johnson & Johnson.

As if nothing has changed.

But is has and here is what they miss.

Prior to the ruling, if you were Asian or White and believe you were discriminated against, it was tough to get traction in Court. You weren’t a protected class.

After the ruling? There is now a CLEAR cause of action against any any any policy that discriminates based on race. In effect, everyone is a protected class. It won’t stop at higher ed. Oh no. There will be lawsuits against corporate America and they will be numerous.

How do I know? Because lawyers live for rulings like yesterday’s. There are ambulance chasers (read “Thr Plaintiff’s Bar”) across this land looking at this as a new plaintiff’s cottage industry.

So hey, corporations out there, you listen to that DEI officer. You hold those diversity conferences and talks. Listen to HR.

But know this, it is no longer a question of the consumer rejecting your product. That can take sometime to bankrupt you. But a class action lawsuits? Buh Bye!!!

When considering the plaintiff’s bar, consider also the defendant’s bar.

The bar is the feeding trough for all lawyers and judges.

Great points!

Common sense Americans (and humans around the world) have been slow to react to the Marxists invading our cultures, economies, governments, and militaries but we are waking up. As Churchill said (paraphrased), "the Marxist lie made it more than halfway around the world before we got our pants...but we have got our pants on now--pulled up and buckled tight--and we are finally starting to fight back."

The DIE of corporate America is poison. If you ever get a chance to expose it to upper management it can be summarized quickly. Perversity is a must with diversity. You MUST fall at the feet of the gods of homosexuality and all other perverted sexualized beliefs to satisfy the “diversity” of DIE corporate policy. If you believe in the God of the Bible you must abandon YOUR beliefs in order to “celebrate” the DIE policy. The corporate world DIE calls out Inclusion which demands EXCLUSION of those who do not “conform” to the belief system of corporate DIE policy. If you dare believe that sodomy is something to be abhorred you must be excluded and shunned. You are commanded by the DIE policy to “celebrate” the sodomite religion! The “equity” of the DIE policy just adds to the costs of everything. The underachievers and those with a certain skin color are advanced to positions of authority in the corporate structure and they are girded up by the people with light skin tones and male body parts. They are the ones that hold the corporate structure together for the most part.

Quote: “ When considering the plaintiff’s bar, consider also the defendant’s bar.”

The defendant’s bar is the biggest fan of the plaintiff’s bar. For without the latter, the former doesn’t exist.

Let a million lawsuits bloom against every large corporation and non-profit in the land.

It is about time average white people got reparations for being stomped on for decades.

Bleed the woke zombies dry.

Another question: will the EEOC no longer be needed? Maybe even disbanded?

What’s the broadly applicable legal rule suddenly throwing doubt on Caucasian-abusive DIE programs? (Haven’t read the recent SCOTUS majority opinion against Harvard.)

“The underachievers and those with a certain skin color are advanced to positions of authority in the corporate structure”

Based on my years of experience in numerous large corporations, I can say that this is undoubtedly, manifestly true. It is one of the reasons I have such disdain for most managers, who are largely incompetent and useless.

I have to laugh. For the past 36+ years I’ve worked for Prudential- a company that’s gone so far left the past ten years I am surprised we are not required to have a photo of Chairman Mao in every office.

Within an hour of the ruling on Friday, all 50,000+ employees got an email from the CEO and executive management team affirming the companies commitment to the racist policy of DEI. I wanted to respond as i’ve responded in the past and they get pissed.

If they put up an article on their decision to maintain DEI on the main employee page, i will link this article.

Prudential is actually more woke and less meritocratic than the big tech companies. Most people don’t realize that.
