Aformer JP Morgan worker revealed why she quit her job after six years—because, as she depicted it, there was no “upward mobility” for her.
“For other people, there was but for me, there wasn’t," she stated. Her theory? Because she is “mixed with Black.” Then, the content creator revealed how she worked at the company for about six to seven years, is “highly credentialed,” “highly educated,” with a “master’s degree” but it wasn’t enough.
During the time she worked there, she contends she didn’t receive any “bonuses, cost of living adjustments, promotions, or raises.” Regardless of how hard she worked, she said she never saw “the same results” as her peers. She also contends that she noticed the same trend happening to other Black people.
“Black people don’t make it in JP Morgan," she contended. "They don’t move up, or they get cut first, or they stay the same,” she stated. “And that’s what happened to me. So, I left.”

Odds are pretty good that master’s degree didn’t require a lot of hard work. I saw it at the MegaCorp I worked for 30+ years. Certain individuals were propped up at the expense of other, hard-working individuals.
What happened with her career after she left?
not certain what she’s up to these days, but it appears she’s trying to become a social media influencer on Tik ToK
Specifics please honey or you have no credibility. Furthermore, many highly credentialed people find the working world a whole different challenge. And finally, in this day and age, I would think JP Morgan would be falling over themselves to promote black professionals.
Seriously?
I have the very same impression. It would be interesting to see her HR performance reviews for that time that she was employed. Bet it is a slow moving train wreck.
Welcome to a small remaining island of the “Meritocracy”.
Share some of that disappearing “White Privilege”.
“highly credentialed,” “highly educated,” with a “master’s degree””
Means nothing.
How much money did you make/save for the company?
Means everything.
If you’re not in the income stream, you are just another replaceable widget.
I can tell from the one sentence above why she is not promoted.
During the time she worked there, she contends she didn’t receive any “bonuses, cost of living adjustments, promotions, or raises.”
slow learner
She could have easily followed in the foot steps of the vice prostitute, ...
A young relative is working on his Ph.D in some financial field while working for one of the big companies. He is also mixed race with a really good wit and attitude.
It is not that he is a man, but that he knows he still has a lot to learn and is willing to cooperate to make things work.
“The business of business is business,” - Not your emotions.
You are either fitted for the financial business or you are not. That goes for any career with high pressure and high expectations.
The only people I know of who keep throwing around their degrees are those with ‘Education’ degrees, and I doubt that JP Morgan needs those types of people.
Then, the content creator revealed how she worked at the company for about six to seven years, is “highly credentialed,” “highly educated,” with a “master’s degree” but it wasn’t enough.
doesn’t say much does it?
Is that on her resume?
This is so much baloney.
She got the credentials and the job thanks to AA .........
but the company concluded she just couldnt measure up.
Now she’s a whiner.
Mixed with black … maybe the liked the blank part, but didn’t like the rest.
Three years with no raise is the mark of someone not going anywhere. Reading a novel by Baldacci about a mythical wall street firm wherein if you don’t do well in the first year, it is out the door. This one lasted six years at MS probably kept their numbers up.
“… Then, the content creator revealed how she worked at the company for about six to seven years, is “highly credentialed,” “highly educated,” with a “master’s degree” but it wasn’t enough.…”
**************************************************************************
She mentioned the things that “got her in the door” and, in her case being black might have helped in that regard. But for promotions, bonuses and pay raises normally WHAT YOU PRODUCE/CREATE are the prime considerations. She neglected to emphasize those for some strange reason. Did she spend six to seven years being “carried”?
So her degree means nothing because she got into college through affirmative action which means she’s not qualified.
Meanwhile, the fact remains that black females can choose their next job and the amount of the paycheck. black females are in high demand because they check two boxes. If they know how to do the work that’s great, but it’s not required.
