The Squad celebrated July Fourth by condemning the country they represent. “This July 4th, we must remember that we stand on stolen land toiled by enslaved Africans and recommit ourselves to the fight for freedom, equality, & justice so that these ideals are accessible to everyone, not just a privileged few,” tweeted Rep. Jamaal Bowman. “We are not free until everyone is truly free.”
“The Declaration of Independence was written by enslavers and didn’t recognize Black people as human,” declared Rep. Cori Bush on Twitter. “Today is a great day to demand Reparations Now.” The tweet signed off with a brown fist.
Are these voices just nutty outliers, or do they indicate a significant change in our society? It’s more the latter. While the majority is still largely patriotic, the youth are a different story. A March WSJ poll found that just 23 percent of Americans under 30 say patriotism is important.
Bowman and Bush reflect the views of a sizable number of young Americans. The percentage of unpatriotic Americans will grow over time. It’s the intended goal of 1619 Project education.
Bowman and Bush don’t hate America for its “freedom” or because of capitalism. They attack America because it was founded by whites. They seek a new founding story that makes non-whites the central characters and demonizes the founding stock. If anti-white racism triumphs in the classroom, that story will be the theme of woke Independence Day.

They can always return to the crapholes that they came from.
Dear Jamaal, can you please name, specifically, those who are not free?
I guess this is only fair. Normal people scoff at and laugh at the ridiculous notion that Juneteenth is a special high holy day, and a national holiday.
That being the case, these people feel the need to laugh at and ridicule Independence Day.
They want to enslave and steal from the free descendants of the people who built this country ...
Black slaves didnt build the country ...
They werent on the Frontier They were safe back in the cities of the East ...
My white ancestors were building from scratch on the Frontier in the Susquehanna River Valley...
There werent any black slaves there ..
… and how does one know when everyone is “free.”
This is just more nonsensical and insane ideology by the demonrats.
My ancestors scratched out a living in northern Alabama, then in Texas from the late 1700’s to the late 1800’s. Many died along the way from disease, Indian raids and other factors.
None of them were slave owners.
Rep Bowman: we stand on stolen land.
Then leave dude.
Gold digger Cori Bush is hardly a sympathetic advocate for reparations. She always has her greedy paws out.
We gave them our language, too - but they misuse it.
One cannot toil land. Perhaps they mean "tilled?!"
Regards,
LOL, good point!
These pukes paint with a broad brush and they want to keep it this way.
IllumiNaughtyByNature re: Your question. The J6th Political Prisoners come to My mind first.
I read this and heard Black Betty playing in my head. lol.
You’re right. Was it meant to be toiled or tilled?
“When tillage begins, other arts follow. The farmers, therefore, are the founders of human civilization.”
Daniel Webster
Avoiding toil
this land they spoil
and with riots roil
the laws they foil
and our cities they soil.
-I made up just now.
LOL!!!
