ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Neither members of the Rochester Fire Department nor Rochester Police Department were paid as scheduled on Thursday morning.
Their union reps are currently at City Hall trying to figure out what’s going on. New10NBC has reached out to Rochester City Hall to learn more.
This is a developing story.

No payee no workee.
No payee no workee.
No payee no workee.
This is how the former Soviet Union fell.
Union members do not like this. Watch Rochester file for bankruptcy.
And right after they did important things like removing the name Nathaniel Rochester from everywhere.
Oh yeah and ribbon cutting at Cabrini Greens II.

Unions have a bad rep these days, and very deservingly so. But they are often the only ones who will dig for the truth. This story is a case in point.
The mayor’s office will lie. And the lapdog press will cover for those lies. Someone must push back against them.
So, do we assume the suit-wearers were paid?
Get a load of this spin...
As of 8 a.m., it appears only uniformed employees were affected.
That is weird. I wonder if there was some kind of extra pay adjustment scheduled for uniformed employees. That would require extra programming that might not have gotten done, or might have been done improperly.
It definitely could be software but it would be interesting to know the name of the bank—maybe the FDIC has (quietly) halted all transactions until closing it down on Friday (the typical day of the week for bank closures).
As folks here know insolvent small and regional banks who are up to their necks in commercial real estate loans are everywhere just waiting to be exposed.
it sure does look that way otherwise the headlines would be city workers weren’t paid instead of police/fire. And it would have much more press.
It is common for payroll to be sent out in waves. No idea of the size of Rochester’s payroll, but a processing wave per department and again for upper management is just good security.
I am sure that Nathaniel Rochester’s descendants buggered up the formatting somehow ... and that Rochester uses someone else’s software to handle payroll and reporting.
yeah well it’s a leftard rag. Check out the launching of Cabrini Greens II a few links down (sustainable housing ™)
Its because the Amish democrats in charge have stolen all of the money
Just like in third world banana republics
Bus all the illegals to Rochester for the next month or two.
I wonder when Soviet America will also fall.
SOOOOOOOOO—YOU SEND OUT THE STANDARD CHECKS & THEN SEND ADDITIONAL CHECKS, IF NECESSARY.
YOU DO NOT STIFF THOSE WORKERS-—NOT EVEN FOR A DAY.
I have done enough payrolls to KNOW there is a workaround that doesn’t hurt the workers-—UNION OR NOT.
1 dead, 1 suffering life-threatening injuries after 5 people shot on N. Clinton Ave.
Note that the cops don't show up to check out the presence of the "large crowd" until AFTER shots were fired.
