Trump Crushes Biden: Even From Prison Trump Has More Support But Biden Defeats DeSantis - Majority Of Dems Say Biden Shouldn't Run
DC Enquirer ^ | 08.10.2023 | Matthew Holloway

Dramatic new polling results from Premise have revealed that 41 percent of Americans polled would vote for 45th President Donald J. Trump in the 2024 election as opposed to incumbent Democrat President Joe Biden who would only capture 34 percent of the vote. And presenting a nightmare scenario for Democrats, Trump even wins from prison. However, should Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) prevail in the GOP primary, the poll shows that he would be defeated by Biden in a single-point race with each candidate barely securing about a third of the vote, 32 to 31 percent.

The Premise results from Five Thirty Eight align closely with intra-party polling according to Timcast News which reported the GOP primary field falling in behind Trump, who sits at 57 percent with DeSantis trailing by a devastating 41-point gap at 16 percent. All other GOP contenders are in single digits and are largely no-factor in the poll.

There does, however, exist an interesting wrinkle in the poll results which indicate that only a net 69 percent of Republicans would likely continue to support Trump if he were convicted and sent to prison under any of the four indictments currently against him, a seventeen-point drop. Fascinatingly this would give Trump a theoretical net 39 percent of the vote, still enough to defeat Joe Biden's 34 percent. It is important to note, however, that 25 percent of voters were unsure on who they would vote for between Joe Biden and Donald Trump when prompted.

This scenario would present a unique legal situation, of having a man elected president during a prison sentence and likely amidst a contentious appeals process that would likely end with a self-pardon, or potentially a short period of constitutional incapacity under the 25th Amendment, until his pardon could be effectuated, making his selection of a vice president all the more important.

As is typical of many prominent mainstream polls, the Premise oversampled Democrats, as was noted by our colleagues at Timcast News, this could skew the data leftward. However, this makes the findings even more profound suggesting the possibility of an even wider margin of victory for Trump. Furthermore, a startling majority, 55 percent, of self-identified Democrat voters said they believe Biden should not be running for a second term as president.

However, this is belied by the fact that alternate Democrats can't even crack the 25 percent mark with Vice President Kamala Harris leading at 21 percent followed by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with 15 percent, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) with 14 percent, and Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) with 10 percent. All other Democrats showed at single digits.

That’s as good a picture of possibilities as any.

I’m hoping for the best (for President Trump), but expecting the worst (for the country either way).

To clarify, if by some miracle Trump is elected president, the country will explode on the left. If Trump is defeated, the country will explode on the right.

We’re not in a good place.

2. Why didn’t Trump show loyalty to his attorney - Harmeet Dhillon?

I remember Zeldin saying that the fix was in for Rona. That was in early December, 2022!

Lee Zeldin won’t run for RNC chair, says fix is in for Ronna McDaniel

Remember, it's the state's party chairs and two selected committeemen from each state who vote for the national party chair. Many of them are still likely GOPe.

It's likely Rona did indeed have the votes early, without Trump's endorsement, and Trump had no leverage to change that.

Yeah, I know it’s the State Chairs decision. I agree with you that many of them are GOPe but a Trump endorsement of his attorney Dhillon would have forced them to publicly defend their backing of McDaniel\Romney. If that had happened, it might make it easier to dislodge some of them.

LOL. DeSantis is “crushing” it for conservatives as governor of Florida? What’s Trump doing these days besides running his mouth?

Perhaps. But if you can't dislodge the GOPe types who vote for the RNC Chair, then you're left with an RNC Chair that you must work with, who you worked against.

Zeldin thought defeating Rona in early December wasn't doable.

Still can't bring yourself to say many of the Biden ballots were not real voters.

I have no idea how many of them were fraudulent and neither do you. Part of the problem is that the left has legalized what would have traditionally been considered fraud, so what is the point of arguing? You're either ballot harvesting or you're losing, and loser-in-chief had the opportunity to help make urgent changes at the RNC or sit on his arse and he chose the latter. He has endorsed Romney multiple times - oh, I'm sorry, stayed "neutral" this time around, which is a de-facto endorsement of the incumbent. Ask Iowa Governor Kim Renyolds whether Trump respects neutrality in any race involving him.

He picked her in 2016 to replace Preibus and then endorsed her in 2019 and 2021 RNC elections

I know that.

But your claim was about the RNC chair election "we just had".

You're claim:

We just had an RNC chair election in which the challenger was calling to organize our own massive ballot harvesting program, and Trump went ahead and endorsed the useless incumbent,...

No, staying neutral after endorsing somebody in the past, is exactly that. It's half a down grade. Criticize that if you want, but don't give me this embellished "defacto endorsement" stuff. It's not!

Ask Iowa Governor Kim Renyolds whether Trump respects neutrality in any race involving him

Trump didn't disrespect Reynolds. That was done by the Big Media headline writers using words like "attack" in the headlines. Once again, that's more embellishment to Get Trump.

Trump simply described the history of his endorsement of Reynolds and then her neutrality. He then declared his neutrality about her by saying that he will no longer be promoting her at rallies.

I opened up the Governor position for Kim Reynolds, & when she fell behind, I ENDORSED her, did big Rallies, & she won. Now, she wants to remain “NEUTRAL.” I don’t invite her to events!

Yep, he just casually observed her neutrality in a dispassionate way.
