Far-right populist Javier Milei rocked Argentina’s political establishment Sunday by emerging as the biggest vote-getter in primary elections to choose presidential candidates for the October general election in a nation battered by economic woes.
Milei, an admirer of former U.S. President Donald Trump, says Argentina’s Central Bank should be abolished, thinks climate change is a lie, characterizes sex education as a ploy to destroy the family, believes the sale of human organs should be legal and wants to make it easier to own handguns.
Votes were still being counted late Sunday, but analysts agreed that the upstart candidate who gained notoriety — and a rockstar-like following — by angrily ranting against the “political caste” did much better than expected and is a real contender for the presidency in this South American country.
With around 92% of polling locations reporting, Milei had around 30% of the total vote, according to official results. The candidates in the main opposition coalition, United for Change, were at 28% and the current governing coalition, Union for the Homeland, had 27%. …

CIA swooping in to stop this ………3, 2, 1
“Far Right”. Right :(
This is Argentina. Probably far left.
Their politics have been terrible the past 100 years. Around 1900, they were slightly behind the U.S. in terms of standard of living. Buenos Aires was quite developed. Then after the World Wars, Argentina fell behind the U.S. and never caught up since then.
Never ever a “far-left”, because to the Marxist-Maoist-Stalinazi media, that doesn’t exist.
My handy-dandy Newspeak media translation guide for political ideology labels:
Media labels vs. Reality:
Blue = Red
Socialist/Left-wing = Stalinist
Liberal = Marxist
Moderate/(Centrist) = Socialist
Conservative = Liberal
Far-Right = Moderate <-———————————HERE
Ultraright/Racist/Bigot = Conservative Mainstream
You are 100% correct.
Abolish the central bank? Do you realize how the IMF will rage at this?
The dirty little secret about Argentina is the Vaca Muerta region has shale gas and oil. They declared their own price for oil so that it was domestically popular to produce it. And they are going to pipe gas to the rest of South America and erase a US LNG market.
They don’t keep assets outside the country and gas/oil is the ultimate payment for any imports.
They are telling the IMF to f*ck off and refuse to repay loans. Default. And so what?
So yes, the CIA will POUR people in.
lol
Would love to a populist right-winger win in Argentina... be a nice thumb in the eye for Bergoglio, arch-chaplain of the globalist left.
Quick,send in the FBI and the DOJ! Can’t let President Trump have a SA ally!
If it were not for the establishment working together at a national and even global level (WEF, Bilderberg, UN), using law enforcement and Intel against the new comers, and a media which is nearly entirely owned and beholden to a globalist liberal agenda (owned by the big corporations and oligarchs), these parties and folks would have much more power and influence.
This is in Germany with the AfD, in Denmark, Netherlands, France, the US (Trump), Italy... This is “truly” grassroots. It is the rejection of an a
ultra liberal social and economic policies which are stripping away people’s wealth (theft through government), stepping on their rights (privacy, gun ownershi, freedom of movement, mandates for the environmen, vaccines, etc), and shitting all over their culture (mass immigration, LGBTQIA...).
Exactly!
Also seen him described as U.N. Chaplain, which would be the same thing.
“Also seen him described as U.N. Chaplain”
I’d kind of disagree with that, as the U.N. at least kinda pretends to entertain some token members and viewpoints at odds with the globalist left’s agenda (e.g., they let the Russians, Poles, Hungarians etc. say their piece against liberalism, etc.). On the other hand, Bergoglio is all in with just one side... the left. His modus operandi seems to be “no enemies to the left; no friends to the right”
I’m leery about the selling human organs part but otherwise I see nothing remotely “far right” about him. Seems quite mainstream to me.
Repeated scenarios....get heavily into debt....get loans from IMF...having to generate serious revenue to make loan re-payments...clear the IMF loan. Then get heavily into social programs....going back heavily into debt, and recycling more loans from IMF.
The script adds a piece or two each time, but it’s the same beginning, and same ending....then repeat. It’s like a 12-year old kid with no understanding of finance or consequences.
Keep tags on Victoria Nuland
If it doesn’t go along with their globalist agenda it deemed far right. Populism is far right, now.
When we complain about liberal bias in the NYT, the WaPo, or CNN, we tend to overlook Associated Press, which is even more crudely progressive in its writing.
Anyone who is not a communist is “far right” according to the Ass Press.
But I would point out that Bergoglio, unlike the globohomo left, has not come down hard against Russia. Also, he has not explicitly endorsed abortion. So, I would still line him up more with the U.N.
