Walmart (WMT) is winning over US shoppers as inflation continues to take a toll.

In the retail giant's second quarter earnings release, out before the market open on Thursday, Walmart posted same-store sales that rose 6.30%, more than the 4.04% expected, according to data from Bloomberg.

Meanwhile, its competitor Target (TGT), which reported Q2 results Wednesday, saw a 5.4% drop in sales and shared a dreary outlook for the rest of the year.

Very interesting. I know my wife and I stopped going to Target. Did this boycott by conservative/religious people benefit Walmart and other retail merchants.

Personally, I hate Walmart too. The last thing I bought there was a deer stand.

The last brick and mortar retailer I actually bought something in was Marshalls. That was a couple pair of means shorts off the discount rack at the back of the men’s section.

As inflation goes up, so does Walmart sales. Economics!

I went to Target the other day. Used up most of an old gift card I had unearthed, so effectively I spent nothing and used up some of their inventory. Then we went to Wal-Mart and spent around $150.

Prior to their grooming my kids loved going to Target.

At best I will step foot in their for products I can’t get anywhere else, I can’t seem to 100% cut them out.

However my spending with them has gone from about $150-200 a month to $30.

They have the problem of being next to a Dollar Tree and all of our body washes/shampoo/conditioners and cleaning stuff moved there.

I’ve always loved Walmart. And they seem to be everywhere here in GA.

I order almost everything online from Walmart, unless I find a price cheaper elsewhere. I also have my groceries delivered from there and love it. I haven’t stepped inside a Walmart Market in about 2 years and it’s so worth it. If I need better produce and meat/chicken, I shop at my local store. Their customer service is excellent and if I’m not happy with something, I’m credited immediately for the purchase.

I spent more than $5000 at Walmart during last 12 months.
Best prices, free delivery and they take everything back no hassles.

My wife buys all of our non-refrigerated packaged food and household items at Walmart online and gets them in the pickup spots in the parking lot. We get our bulk items at Sam's Club or BJ’s. The savings over other retail outlets is 20-30%. A box of Brillo or a bottle of V8 from Walmart are the same as the ones sold at Publix. Personally, I enjoy taking the tour through the store and watching the show.

Amazon prices are so much better than those at the retail hardware and electronics outlets that I do most of that shopping online now. I just upgraded my PC and Newegg couldn't match the price or availability I found at Amazon.

It's all about price and convenience. Walmart and Amazon have it.

I hate Walmart. Today I will go there and pick up my online order. I spent 10 minutes yesterday placing my order on their totally easy to navigate website. I will pay 20% less than just about any other store. I will go and wait probably 10 minutes for them to bring my groceries out and put them in my truck. I will not have to deal with a human being except to say “thanks” when they finish loading my stuff. That’s why I can’t quit them.

Just have them deliver to your home. You don’t have to deal with anyone.
