If government agents are sued for things done in the course of their employment, DOJ defends them. And covers any judgments against them.
If DOJ doesn’t defend these guys, the Deep State is sending a message.

Well, Hunter (Rob) has to earn somehow? This is probably the most legitimate way of making bank he’s ever engaged in, really. Never let a crisis (or revenue opportunity) go to waste. He’s quite likely to find a judge that issues an order to pay him for unlawful disclosures regardless of the source. Bingo! $50K per month for life.

I’m no lawyer, but could this be used to delay charges against him? At least until the election is over? It seems this could be argued that the ‘complex legal situation’ needs to be resolved before moving forward...avoiding the embarrassment for now.

Can all defendants now just invoke the “Biden” defense to any charges? Or, is that defense only reserved for certain people?
We now have the “Trump exception” which does not apply to all laws, regulations, and precedents, and the “Biden defense” to all crimes, including violations of all bribery, extortion, tax-avoidance, and gun laws.
