After working with him in the Clinton White House, if there is one Democrat I know inside out, it is my former colleague George Stephanopoulos. The recent ABC/Washington Post poll showing Trump 9 points ahead of Biden bears all of his fingerprints.
After years of seeing polls deliberately skewed against Trump to discourage people from backing or donating to him, we new have the spectacle of a poll biased for Trump, likely designed to force Biden out of the race.
Democrats had hoped that the Trump indictments would hobble the GOP front-runner. But, instead, they have energized his base, essentially eliminated the Republican primary, and delivered the nomination to Trump. These indictments represent one of the greatest political blunders in our nation’s history.
Stephanopoulos would never have permitted ABC to go with a poll that shows Biden losing by 10 points unless he wanted to send a message to his party: Dump Biden.
The Democrats have hung onto Biden despite mounting evidence that he is incapable of being president for another month, let alone four years.
Now, Stephanopoulos, the ultimate Democratic pro has delivered the coup de grace.

Politicians don’t think that way. Think Pence, Menendez. There are exceptions like LBJ. Read the writing on the wall but then one can wait to be sure.

I agree that this poll is directed at Joe Biden: quit the reelection campaign and let some other Democrat win the nomination for U.S. President.
There have been several hints lately that Brandon is going to be excused from the 2024 ticket. This is one of them.

I have a hard time believing Brandon will walk away from the White House. He’ll either have five more years there, or he’ll die while in office. I really don’t see a door #3.

I doubt there is time for anyone else to even get on the ballot. And Biden won’t be on in New Hampshire or Iowa which is pretty much concession in everything but name.
Dick Morris prediction. No one will ever make me believe the Dims boot Biden. He is there guy.
Biden has his supporters, to be sure. His negatives may turn out to be more than the Dems can bear. The only question is who will replace him on the ticket, Gavin or Newsome?

That’s my thinking, too. Michelle is lazy. Whether it’s true or not, the D party bosses will tell her that she’s the only one who can stop Trump. And if she wins, she can go on being lazy. Just sign a few papers now and then.

Oh, the Bolsheviks (i.e., the Democrats) will toss Biden under the bus if he is seen as damaging to the brand, such that it will negatively affect the Party. Dems’ loyalty is to the party, and nothing but the party.

Internal polling must be really horrible for the Dems to want to jettison Biden. And we haven’t officially gone into recession yet. When that happens it will be very tough for the administration and their media allies to spin it in a favorable way or blame someone else. Of course this assumes that there’s also not am embarresing debacle in Ukraine like there was in Afghanistan. The potential is definitely there, however.
