My guess is that an independent Manchin run would knock the wind out of any prog Rat candidate, particularly if that ‘Rat is Jao Beidan. Would take a few away from President Trump, but the damage to the ‘Rat would be brutal.

I don’t think Manchin has any ‘draw’ outside of WV. Here in WV running as an ‘independent’, he would harm the Rat vote. He might drive it down to Vegetarian Party levels.

Manchin eeked out a 3% victory when he last ran. West Virginia was one of Trump’s best states in 2020. Nearly a 40% win. Yeah, he would split Rat votes. Bigly.
