Presidential candidates Cornel West and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. shared differing statements on the attacks on Israel this weekend.

Both West, who is running as an independent, and Kennedy Jr., who is seeking the Democratic nomination, uploaded statements after the deadly attacks on Saturday, October 7.

In a Saturday post shared on X, formerly Twitter, West said: "The escalation of the barbaric violence in the Middle East must stop. The vicious Israeli occupation and the ugly Palestinian retaliation results in the killing of precious innocent people on both sides. We must have a lasting peace based on justice! #TruthJusticeLove."

Sirhan Sirhan shot RFK because of his support for Israel.

If I saw that guy walking down the road, I'd bring the kids in, put the dogs out, and take the street sweeper off the rack.

It was meant to stop the peace treaty with Saudi Arabia, and fire up the Muslim world.

No, it is to scuttle the establishment of state recognition and diplomatic ties with Saudi Arabia, which is very close to being accomplished. Thank President Trump for the Abraham Accords for that. It’s important to know that the Abraham Accords were done without State Department involvement. The administrative state has been wrong for decades on ME peace by always pimping a two state solution as a predicate to anything else. This is just one of many reasons I do not want to see the U.S. government involved in this conflict. The last thing I want to see is the State Department involved. Everything they touch turns to chit.

Funny, that pic is from NPR. It’s probably doctored to make West look better.

The Israeli and American Navies have been very effective preventing the flow of arms into Gaza by sea. Nevertheless Hamas managed to accumulate a huge store of sophisticated weaponery. The US has to face the reality that those arms had to go through Egypt.Egypt of course is heavily subsidized by American taxpayers. They claim to be our ally and claim to be at peace with Israel.

Interesting. When you do the math, it winds up that Cornell is the ONLY major candidate supporting the Palestinians, yet Palestinian lovers comprise a HUGE block of Democrat voters.

Hatred towards Israel is only exceeded by hatred towards Russia in the Democrat world, and not by very much. The only reason the Democrats haven’t gone full Anti-Israel is because a huge amount of their funding and free media comes from the Jews who do support Israel (relatively small in number, but huge in money and power) - otherwise the Democrats would be openly anti-Semitic.

Not saying that you’re wrong, but my theory has been that some organization thought to be ‘friendly’ with the West got them in due to lax controls via some other land or sea route (maybe even in from Israel, who knows) - in other words, the Israelis trusted this organization and allowed them to supply Gaza, virtually without inspection.

My reason for not thinking Egypt is because the government that would definitely have done such - the Neocons-installed Muslim Brotherhood, was overthrown by the Egyptian Military roughly a decade ago. The new leader, Sisi, has been very quiet with regard to Israel, and has treated the 13 Million Christians in Egypt probably better than any leader there since WW2, if not longer. That does not mean he thinks the same of Jews...but it does show that Sisi, a Muslim, is not obsessed with hating non-Muslims.

Very good!!!! Who would blame you? If the dogs are the right kind, you may not need the “street sweeper”.

How in the devil did West get into this run for President? Nary a word has been heard from him in years - did he only come forward because of the attack on Israel by Hamas? He needs to be put back in his cage!

I guess I missed that speech.

I think everyone but RFK did.

Yes, he says some good things concerning the CDC and vaccines, but outside of that he’s proving himself to be quite the clown.
