“We have been caught in a riot once and almost in a riot a couple more times. Once, in 2001, I think, a man holding a gun confronted us over whether we were Christians.”
You are brave to have returned.
Was being a Christian considered a bad thing?
The O’Keefe posts on X sounds like he presumes he is on a hit list. What he knows & will be sharing the reason
So sad, prayers up
If she comes to her senses, that could happen....

Trump Has Devoured the Republican Establishment
https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4213996/posts
The former president now controls the Republican Party by virtually every conceivable measure. He has a commanding lead in fund-raising and polling. His policies are a beacon to which most conservative lawmakers orient themselves in affairs both foreign and domestic. His endorsement remains the single most coveted asset that any Republican could hope to brandish in a primary race, and he has already received support from an overwhelming majority of prominent elected Republicans.
In this election cycle, Mr. Trump has received endorsements from 130 House members and 31 senators, a majority of both Republican caucuses, according to an analysis by FiveThirtyEight. Ms. Haley, his only remaining opponent, has received just one congressional endorsement, from a House member from her home state, South Carolina. Before Mr. DeSantis dropped out, he had collected only five.
The picture is similar among governors, with 11 Republican governors endorsing Mr. Trump, two endorsing Ms. Haley, and two having endorsed Mr. DeSantis before his exit. With Mr. DeSantis immediately backing the former president after dropping out and Senator Mitch McConnell indicating a new willingness to defer to Mr. Trump’s political preferences, only a vestige of organized opposition remains among Republican elected officials and political figures.
Pink Floyd CD returned to Maryland library 35 years late
https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/4213994/posts
A library in Laurel recently got some unexpected late returns: a CD and a vinyl record that were checked out decades ago.
At the Laurel branch of the Prince George’s County Memorial Library System, someone turned in Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” 35 years late.
“Staff found it in the book drop,” circulation supervisor Candice Washington said. “We have no idea who it is. A few weeks later, someone also turned in an Eddie Rabbitt vinyl 41 years late.”
“The staff are, honestly, really excited, and we don’t even carry CDs and vinyls anymore, so they were excited to see some old relics of things that we used to circulate,” Washington said.
The library isn’t looking to collect a fine.
“We actually did away with late fees in July 2020, so they technically wouldn’t owe anything,” Washington said.
But the library still hopes whoever returned the music will come forward.
Democrat Activists Sue Chicago Mayor Over Sanctuary Status, Threaten to Flip City Red
https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4213992/posts
A coalition of black Chicago Democrats are taking legal action against the city over damages they claim have been caused by its sanctuary status.
Chicago resident and activist Cata Truss, one of the residents filing suit, said she had voted for Mayor Brandon Johnson but was now experiencing “buyer’s remorse” after witnessing what she claims to be preferential treatment to illegal immigrants over the native Chicagoans.
“I supported [Chicago] Mayor Brandon Johnson,” Ms. Truss told the Free Press. “I feel like a fool right now. You can slap us in the face by ignoring us today, but we are punching you in the face by ignoring you at the polling places tomorrow.
“There’s a humanitarian crisis in the black community. ... But every time we have a need in our community, we’re told that there are no funds. There’s no money for us,” she added.
According to the most recent data, Chicago has received nearly 40,000 illegal immigrants since August 2022. The thousands of new arrivals have filled up the city’s homeless shelters, with countless more sleeping on police station floors and staying at airports. To combat the problem, the city and state governments have allocated more than $640 million. Meanwhile, many locals say they are struggling to survive in the current economic climate.

“We see that the Democratic Party has decided to do away with us, and so we [are] fine with that,” Mr. Carter told MSN. “And so we’re going to do away with them.

To the drunk moslem, yes, being a Christian was a bad thing.
What percentage of Muslims do you have there?
That’s a pretty dangerous missionary location, sounds like!
I am not sure about the percentages. There are a lot here. There are also a lot of Christians and there are some Buddhists.
My husband and I are part of a Bible Translation team which seeks to bring God’s Word to people who do not have the Bible in their own languages. There are over 250 different languages in this province. In the last 30 years, since Mike and I have been here, around 40 have received God’s Word, either the New Testament and some the complete Old and New Testaments.
But of course, missionaries go into territories where the people worship false gods. If people were already Christian, they don’t need missionaries. They need pastors and Bible teachers.
Sorry to hear that. RIP, Mary.
I recommend Michigan congressman John James as Trump’s VP. I like veterans.
Paczki??? Heavenly. Thanks Lysie.

Seriously? UPS drivers making $170,000!?
I don’t know how our incomes up here compare to America, but that’s a boat load of money for a UPS delivery guy.
Hi Dolly.....good sleep?
Looking good, lysie. I like walnuts, and peanuts, but by far, my favorite nut is a doughnut!
I’ve always liked John James. I thought he got cheated out of his first run.
I thought the other day how veterans should be in office in a very large number. They’re the ones who were willing to die, who fought for the country. Less apt to be join the crooked ruling class. But then there’s Crenshaw.
“To the drunk moslem, yes, being a Christian was a bad thing.”
That’s for sure....and I don’t think the sober ones are much better.
