This thread has already cited three incidents, in different states. It is scandalous behavior. Own it.
Yep. People are used to the police officers we “boomers” dealt with years ago. That era is gone. They have lowered the standards to meet DEI goals so that many times they are just hiring gang members.
Similar thing happened several years ago in N GA. SWAT broke into the wrong house and the flash bang landed in the baby’s crib. It was really bad.
Nope, make them individually liable and hit their pensions.
Remove qualified immunity
I know, right? Purely racist. Like white people are not supposed to have black friends, relatives or in-laws? Or a photo of a black person is indicative of a criminal? What year is this, 1924?
Maybe they could swing by the pound and bring a dog to shoot.
“You are taking one terrible incident and painting all police with a broad brush. Lazy thinking or an agenda?”
It’s not an agenda. It is facing reality. Just like in every other profession, DEI hiring has lowered the quality of police recruits. Add in the George Floyd back-lash which saw the good police officers leaving the force and we are left with the lowest possible quality candidates on the force.
I could post story after story of LEOs planting drugs, beating suspects, doing sloppy investigations to close a case, etc. It’s no long the “boomers” good guys in blue who just want to keep the peace and the citizens safe that we remember from our youth. Where do you think the FBI agents came from that worked with the DOJ and have the Jan 6th defendants rotting in jail?
No matter what I was doing when I was younger, I never worried that a cop would harm me or plant drugs in my vehicle if he pulled me over for going a bit fast. Those instances were few and far between years ago. Now days I get really really nervous if an officer pulls out behind me.
Lock the cops up in a van handcuffed, pitch in a couple of flashbangs, then some bear spray, shut the doors and go to lunch.
Yeah, because feeding tubes are easily mistaken for firearms.
This wasn’t just an infant, it was an infant with some severe health issue that they made worse by their actions and then by their delays to address the child’s needs.
How about this one?

Suspect they’re looking for is already in jail, hasn’t lived in the house in years.
Things these cops with PTSD dont understand.
1. There is NO SUCH THING, as stop and ID. They cant get it through their head that they CAN NOT simply stop anyone they want and demand ID without cause. OH! And the number one excuse? We had a call..or we are suspect of you. OK..name the crime! It has to be specific.
2. They dont understand that they CAN NOT enter a domicile without a warrant. NOT EVEN the property. If they do enter it, they have to use the path/sidewalk/driveway, or stay outside the property bounds. They CAN NOT wander around the property, look into windows or outbuildings without a warrant or look at the property.
The ONLY WAY, they can enter a property without a warrant is when there is a activity ongoing AT THAT TIME-like violence or a fire..etc.
3. They CAN NOT violate anybodies right to film or take photos on a public right of way.
If, at a traffic stop they force you out of your car without cause and just detain you, they are liable for civil rights violations. They cant search your car for anything without a warrant UNLESS, they see the illegal item in plain site. They have to stay in the scope of the reason for the traffic stop such as a speeding violation.
My cousin was sheriff of a county in WI for 16 years and had no such trouble with this crap there. My best friend was a cop in the UP of MI till he retired and he also understood civil rights and had no problems. My wife’s nephew is a cop near Detroit MI and I educated him on these three main items...he had no idea, they never taught them any of that in police school.
I remember reading that one a few weeks ago. Just a “miscommunication” so not the cops fault.
30 SWAT cops to get a 14 year old. What, did he walk across the capitol lawn?
(Snicker, snicker)
There. Fixed it.
Where's the fun in that?
They have to show how macho and military they are somehow.
The ATF and IRS are salivating at the prospect of hiring these thugs.
Surveillance use to be employed
Now cop work is guess work...
You haven’t been watching the enforcers the last few years.
That kind of stuff is more common than many people realize. Following a move and getting a new phone number (landline, a long time ago) I almost immediately started getting threatening calls from bill collectors. Bell Atlantic had recycled a phone number from a deadbeat and gave it to me. Took almost two years to convince the bill collectors that I am not the fellow they were looking for. At least it was limited to phone calls ...
