Mexico: 14 kidnapped from village that rose up and killed cartel members

A drug cartel in central Mexico has kidnapped 14 local residents, including four children, in apparent retaliation for an uprising by angry farmers earlier this month that killed 10 cartel gunmen, officials said.

Farmers in the village of Texcaltitlán and a neighboring hamlet had apparently grown tired of cartel extortions. Armed only with sickles and hunting rifles, they chased down suspected gang members amid bursts of automatic gunfire on 8 December, hacking, shooting and burning them. Four villagers also died in the clash.

Prosecutors said late on Wednesday that the cartel then abducted 14 people, including four children between the ages of one and a half and 14. The abducted adults include three policemen who were seized at a cartel roadblock, and a wounded villager the gang snatched from a hospital soon after the clash.

José Luis Cervantes, the head prosecutor for the state of Mexico, located west of the country’s capital, Mexico City, said no ransom demand had been received. Previously, state officials had denied anyone was kidnapped, and said they were simply “missing”.

But residents of the village and a nearby hamlet said the Familia Michoacana drug cartel was demanding they hand over the leaders of the uprising, in exchange for releasing the kidnapped children and adults.

Cervantes said none of the villagers would face charges for the 8 December clash, because the confrontation had been classified as “legitimate self-defense” because the farmers were defending their properties.

The lesson is… keep going. Better to eventually die in a gunfight than be kidnapped and have the skin from your head removed, eyes removed, genitals and heart removed while still alive(after you are forced to watch them do it to your kids)

If I was president, I would, at minimum, drop a daisycutter on the homes of every cartel leader and then warn Mexico we will invade them and or destroy them if they do not stop the border invasion and drug trade. Better yet, I’d drop a nuclear bomb.

The police certainly won’t do anything. They’re practically run by the cartels. It will be like that in America too if we keep letting them in.

Will protestors descend upon this village, demand a cease-fire, and call the villagers “genocidal”?

If we do not confront Satan, we join his mission.

The test is easy. Satan does not recognize we have Jesus as our Lord and Savior unless we command him (Satan) to cast out/ stop/leave/depart, etc. in Jesus’ Mighty Name and STAND on that word. We have authority but don’t know or use it!

If something is stealing, killing and destroying-—one should not guess who is doing it.

Mexico has allowed cartels to rule the country and must fight back. Yes, there will be bloodshed of innocent but there will continue to be bloodshed until evil is killed. They let it go on too long, and that action is here in the USA.

Isn’t this about time when some of the farmers ride to the border to hire Chris and a few of his friends to clean up their village? Relying on the paid police or the federales doesn’t seem to work.

Sounds good, but it would be useless without carpet bombing Langley where their bosses work.

This. You can’t pin prick the cartels, you have to go ‘total war’ and kill then all.

I fully support US covert and covert military action against the cartels. Seal the borders and then unleash hell on them.

I believe that was the plan from the start of this invasion.. Lots of money in drugs, and the demoncrat politicians love money.. It's a match made in heaven, for them anyway..

The problem is that there have been several POTUS/CIA who have been partners with the cartels.

It is well documented that the CIA was bringing in Cocaine to Mena, AR originally during the Regan administration. GHW Bush was VP(former CIA director) and Bill Clinton was governor of AR.

I was told by a former Mexican national that he and several other El Presidente guards delivered a truckload of cocaine to the border as a present for POTUS GHW Bush when he took office.
I would assume that this continued under Clinton. I also would not be surprised if it continued under GW Bush.

So, IF the US government was going to take out CERTAIN cartel operations, they would probably only take out their COMPETITION and not their partners.

Its like that already here. The cartels own our politicians which is why nothing gets done about the border.

Never saw the remake, and did not even know who was in it. I don’t watch recent remakes of classics, because I already know what I will think of the remake. The Chris I was referring to was Yul Brenner’s character name in the real one.
