Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton refused the Biden administration's efforts to reclaim control of Shelby Park in Eagle Pass after the drowning of three migrants attempting to cross the border through the Rio Grande over the weekend.
Paxton, in a letter first reported by conservative news outlet The Daily Caller, responded to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) lawyer who threatened legal action if the state does not remove all barriers blocking access to and allow federal border control agents access to Shelby Park, a stretch of land along the river that has been used as a staging area for migrants and was seized by Texas National Guard (TNG) troops in the border town of Eagle Pass.
"Because the facts and law side with Texas, the State will continue utilizing its constitutional authority to defend her territory, and I will continue defending those lawful efforts in court. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) should stop wasting scarce time and resources suing Texas, and start enforcing the immigration laws Congress already has on the books," Paxton wrote.

"Or else what?"
Legalese for Eff Off!
If it was a republican in the white house making a demand like this, the “or else” would be a sternly worded letter.
not sure what biden has up his sleeve but he can’t look weak now so he might do something stupid.
Incidentally, he would make a great contender for veep.
You know it is election time in Texas when Abbott takes any type of decisive action. After the March primaries, he will return to not wanting to upset the Feds. It happens every election season.
What has potato for brains done that is NOT stupid?
Eagle Pass will be either Biden’s Fort Sumter or Waco............
I guarantee the left will at least attempt to punish Abbott and Texas for this.....it’s who they are, and obama will be the architect like so many other things going on right now.
“”Give us access to the border, or else.
“Or else what?””
Possibly... the unspoken threat might be... that O’Biden might federalize the Texas National Guard. It wouldn’t work for them, but I suspect that’s the implied threat.
Nope. Attorney General
“You know it is election time in Texas when Abbott takes any type of decisive action. After the March primaries, he will return to not wanting to upset the Feds. It happens every election season.”
It’s still better than nothing, which is what most states are getting from their “governors” re: opposition to the Marxists.
That works as well. It is the caliber of people that needs to be put together this time around.
He’d make an even better contender for Attorney General. He would have the FBI and DOJ cleaned up in no time.
What’s frustrating is that our side could have a million men on the border by next week, if any Texas politician had the guts to put out a call for help.
There is a need for a herculean stable cleaning.
The continual stench and level of corruption is high, wide and deep.
Paxon would make a good IG for Homeland Security.
Name a governor on the border that has done more than Abbott?
My guess is that the Biden Regime will immediately cease all Federal funding to Texas for the “this and that” federal funds they carrot-and-stick spend our money in Texas with.
I suggested when Trump was building the wall to put out a call for VOLUNTEERS & PAY THEM.
Find staging areas for their RV’s, etc.
Bring in the semi truck/trailers that TIDE used in disasters for showers & laundry.
Hire the wives to run the Mess tents & provide food for free.
That ENTIRE wall would have been built in less than 3 months, IMO.
Abbott was reelected in 22.
