Trump never asked Florida to pay his legal bills. True but the proposal to set aside public funds was made by a member of the Fl legistature. DeSamtis was responding to the person making the proposal, not to Trump.
And he's right.

100% right. Some things are about principles not personalities.

He could have personally responded to that one person instead of being a putz about it.
He could have just told the guy Trump pays his own legal bills.

Ron comtinues to show just why people don’t like him. He didn’t have to say anything and he sure as hell didn’t have to tweet about it. Another unforced error in a series of them.

On a side note, the RNC paid millions for DJT legal bills until he became a 2024 candidate. At that point, the RNC halted payments through the primary season to maintain neutrality among the candidates.
Don't know when the "primary season" ends, allowing Trump to receive RNC funds again to pay his legal bills. Is it when Trump is the last candidate standing, or when the RNC convention nominates him?

I don’t like it when politicians put their hands in our pockets, even politicians I support. Anyone who wants to help Trump pay his legal bills is free to do so with their own money, and I intend to do so.

Not necessarily
The citizens of Florida may think it’s a good use of their money. Better than most
