A one day safety stand-down cannot undue over a decade of decay.
The culture of the Renton plant is middle-school at-best. Petty in-fighting (e.g., hiding tools, breaking tools, “stealing” carts), tribal discrimination (e.g., lesbians v. straights, black vs. white, you name it), union leaderships colluding with management in witch hunts and bullying.

When I visited Seattle a number of years ago I did the factory tour of the Everett plant. Among other things we were given a tour of the area where the 747 and 787 were assembled. It was the most impressive thing I had ever seen. Sad to see what’s happening to this (once) great company.
My brother in law is a financial analyst there and I hear horror stories - a once great company taken over by political correctness.
“...hiding tools...”
That’s a pretty serious offense. Boeing uses chits, tool cutouts, etc to maintain tool accountability. I can’t imagine a shift could leave without all tools being accounted for.
