this.
The Federal Government is in DIRECT violation of THE CONSTITUTION:
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion.U.S.Const., Art. IV, Sec. 4.
Unconstitutional federal Court actions or decisions (here), acts and laws MUST be defied!!!
The easiest of the three to defy is Court decisions because the Court has no enforcement power.
I'll add, TEXAS and GOV. ABBOTT: STOP taking federal funding and become financially INDEPENDENT from the bankrupt feds. Your constitutionally sovereign state is meant to be INDEPENDENT!!!
Barrett is a whore.
Exactly as I said. No State must submit to invasion regardless of any ruling, law, notice or edict. Natural law supersedes here. This is an existential problem.
“The Supreme Court’s ruling on the motion carries zero persuasiveness.”
What ruling? The SCOTUS pulled a stay and gave no other ruling or comment at the time. Or is there some other reference being made?
What is an invasion?
While it might look obvious, the definition from the time of the founding of the republic has to be applied. At the time they were referring to “pirates and barbarians” who entered the country with enmity.
The argument from the left is that people seeming asylum are certainly not entering with enmity.
I think we should close the border and shoot at people as the cross the midpoint of the river…but unfortunately, constructionists are going to disappoint again when this gets to the SCOTUS.
wow that was really useful post. I do hope Abbott and crew keep doing the job they were elected for.
The true insult is that they are doing so on the backs of my grandchildren. F@#$ers.
> In this case, the Supreme Court’s ruling on the motion carries zero persuasiveness.
the ussc did not bother to supply any reasoning in its order. did i miss something? the omission glares at me. the ussc is hiding a feeling of insecurity over its own powers?
horowitz does a great job. to me right now it seems that he could have gone further.
Nine fallible humans, usually with potentially vulnerable family members, can be coerced into poor decisions. They are the Constitution’s weakest link.
That says almost nothing about how they'll rule when they do consider the issue.
It’s a temporary ruling. They’ll side with Texas when the final full case is heard.
“Do you think the American people would ever have ratified the Constitution if they had been told, ‘The meaning of this document shall be whatever a majority of the Supreme Court says it is’?”
I think we are at the point now where SCOTUS believes that...
