I wondered when insurance companies would start denying claims or suing cities due to negligence of city leadership. Meanwhile, all our insurance premiums continue to increase.

Negligence? It was worse than that. Cowardice is what I would call it.

$5.6 million in damages only?

Heck - 50 BLM protestors just got $10 million from Seattle because the police tried to take back the streets.

They have insurance (the city) to cover stuff like this. It’ll pay off, and 6-to-12 months later...the city will get a notice that the yearly amount for coverage is going to triple.

At that point, property taxes will escalate, and the city council will spend months trying to explain the up-tick on taxation...without admitting the riots triggered the pay-out.

I wonder why the policies covered damages from rioting and civil unrest?

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Governor Tim Walz sat on their hands while the city burned. They feared losing the whole city to Antifa and BLM. Today, they can’t even establish a Third Precinct police office after rioters destroyed the original one. Rioters apparently feel its racists to establish police presence in the Third Precinct. So, instead, liberals tear down statues, take Aunt Jemima off the syrup bottle, and remove the native American woman from the Land O’ Lakes butter package but establish George Floyd Square to honor a criminal druggie who died from drugs and not from a cop kneeling on his neck. Google The Fall of Minneapolis and watch the true story. The Minneapolis police force is way down in numbers. It is not a safe city.

Im surprised them paid, most insurance doesn’t cover “acts of war”. which is what those riots were.

Hahaha!
The city is being sued based upon an analysis paid for by the city!

Hoisted in their own retard.
...I know...typo...but I’ll let it stand.

“The complaint cites an independent report from Hillard Heintze (HH), a safety and security consulting firm. The city contracted with the firm in 2021 to provide an analysis...l
