United Airlines flight diverted because Boeing jet had cracked windshield in another flight near-disaster.

A cross-country United Airlines flight was diverted Sunday because the Boeing jet had a cracked windshield, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

United Airlines Flight 1627 had been heading from Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Dulles International Airport in Washington, DC, on Sunday when it made a sharp turn for an unexpected stop, as seen on its path tracked by Flight Aware.

It "landed safely at Denver International Airport in Colorado … after diverting due to a cracked windshield," the FAA said.

Cracked windshields on airliners are not that uncommon.

Planned obsolescence for the opening of 15 minute cities and

Cracked airplane windshields are a not uncommon event. Not a crisis. Since half of the airplanes flying are Boeing, that is a coincidence too.

Most of this Boeing bashing is, like you said, a media exploitation like shark attack flurries. The media is chasing this squirrel because we like to hear about "near catastrophes" while ignoring the safe landing part..

With the way our government is headed, not flying is going to
be also.

Saw a guy predicting the future of air travel for regular
citizens. He said there wouldn’t be access around 2030.

He was some guy that focuses on future trends.

This looks a lot like setting the basis for it.

Fairly common. I’ve had two. The windscreen gets replaced as well as the seat cushions.

“National Airport”

“Cape Canaveral” was misnamed from 1963 to 1973.

Now if we could just get rid of all the MLK Blvds and Obama Streets — think how much more peaceful things would be.

The big problem is Airlines are demanding plane manufacturers lower the weight of planes or lower the price; all in the quest to lower fuel costs.

It’s a fool’s bargain. There is a limit to what is safe.

Exactly. Windshields on transport airplanes are several layers for redundancy.
Not an exciting event but might garner hits from the mass media.

There was an incident in the UK several years ago where an improperly installed cockpit windshield failed in flight and sucked the pilot out the window; and it was the quick thinking of another crew member that saved him from flying off into the sky. The co-pilot made an emergency landing at a small airport and, incredibly, the pilot survived.

Did anyone but someone knowledgeable like you know that?

Another good reason for not allowing tourism in the cockpits.
Even if it’s a just boy being asked about bodybuilding magazines and Turkish prisons.
