I can’t believe someone thought this was newsworthy. The issue under discussion was guns, the student asked a question, and the lawmaker responded politely and included a visual example.

Yeah - and it took me 2 or 3 articles before I finally found one that said he showed the gun IN HIS HOLSTER and not inferring that he pulled it out held it above his head and went pew pew!
The other problem is that he could have and should have punched down on the adult chaperone instead:
