At a House Republican press briefing to promote a resolution declaring former President Trump did not engage in an insurrection yesterday, Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) slammed attempts to remove the ex-President from the ballot and insulted reporters' for their coverage of January 6.

Crane voted to certify the 2020 Big Steal. Consequently, his present actions are suspect of grandstanding.
It may take generations, before the history books get it straight. However, there was a lot of government conspiracy at worst, ineptitude at best going on. Whether it is FISA judges being lied to, the Steele report being used as evidence, the way that Trump was slandered, the use of foreign intelligence agencies to try to set up Trump, or what really went on with the fences, opening of doors and not having a greater police presence for crowd control.
Do I think Trump was guilty of an insurrection? No. Do I think some of the people who went into the Capitol wanted an insurrection? Maybe, but if they did, it was not a classic insurrection by armed citizens bent on overthrowing a standing government through the spilling of blood. It was perhaps one of histories most bloodless insurrections, if it was one at all, and I don't think it was.
The world has taken on a 1984 mentality where the meaning of words like “insurrection” and “aid and comfort to the enemy” have been changed to take on new meanings.

The left wants us to believe that a few thousand people made up mostly of the most heavily armed part of our population (conservatives) gathered in WDC to protest a fraudulent election and none of them thought to bring a gun? Bullshiite.
The left has convinced a huge part of the population that there was an “armed” insurrection on January 6. They never mention that the “arms” were things like poles waving American flags. The gullible purposely misinformed public, who consumes only the propaganda media, pictures “arms” as guns.
That same propaganda media has probably never mentioned a single time that there were zero guns found on any Trump supporter at the Capitol on January 6.

Crane didn’t take office until January 2023. This is his first public office he’s held.
