....they can proceed with eliminating 90% of the world’s population...

If the world population is reduced by 90%, "government" will be tribal chieftains living in mud huts or squatting in caves. Even the most adamant globalist knows that.

Bush lied about WMD’s.

Bush did not lie. I have the text of his message to Congress on my hard drive. It does not mention WMDs. It's too long for a post, or I would. Maybe you can find it online. Read it and weep.

That’s what they are planning, if they can get control of the world’s governments.

That’s not what the news said. I remember Colin Powell selling that point to Congress.

I wondered what had happened to my grandmother’s relatives since she was the only one of 8 siblings in East Prussia to immigrate here around 1890. I know two of her sisters, maiden ladies in their 70s committed suicide in 1945 when the Russians came in raping and brutalizing the women. One woman was a gynecologist, so she certainly must have heard what their fate might be. Others I heard had fled across the frozen Baltic in horse and sleds, which led to a number of deaths when ice broke and people drowned. Therefor, I am particularly interested in the fate of Kaliningrad. I was even told an ancestor was Mayor of Konigsberg.

So I guess you can see why I favor the Ukranians.

Very poor analogy to use here. The U.S. spent about 14 years in Vietnam and lost then spent over 20 years in Afganistan and lost.

And in two years in Ukraine, the Russians have lost more men than the US lost in Vietnam and Afghanistan combined over that 34 year period.

The muscovites have accomplished (so little for so much loss)what they have because they have not faced a credible Air Force.

That would not be tha case if they did this, their Air Force and air fields would be destroyed in days, and their submarine fleet would grow immensely

In that case, France and Germany should station troops there. How about them doing it for once, instead of good old Uncle Sucker? They got the peace dividend, w2e didn’t. now they can pay it back.

Who started this war?

Putin obviously, when he invaded a sovereign country without any provocation

@gleeaikin: Not to belittle it, but your family's story is just one of millions that I've read about. Russian troops were positively medieval in their treatment of civilians everywhere they went. It's no wonder at all why German troops were welcomed as liberators in Ukraine and Georgia.

The book Bloodlands describes some of it. A book I cannot face reading for a second time.

One of the greatest crimes of the war was FDR's abandonment of Poland to Russian hegemony at Tehran. Churchill knew, but at that point was leading a nation made bankrupt by America's prewar isolationism, and could do nothing.

Any war you didn’t win, you lost. Don’t get me wrong, and I hate it for the USA, but we haven’t won a major conflict since WW2. That’s just scary.

Britain was bankrupt by their Empire that they couldn’t hold onto. The same way the US is bankrupt, except we lost every war since 2.

No, Britain was bankrupted by American demands for payment in gold for every airplane, truck, barrel of oil, shipload of food or box of bullets they bought from us from 1938 until we entered the war. Thank the American isolationists. They were so broke by 1940 that the arrival of Norway's sovereign gold store after the Nazi invasion was a miracle. You people watch a couple of videos and think you know history. It's appalling, the ignorance.

This may be the first war since ww2 where a win and loss can be declared.
Unlike our recents wars specifically iraq and Afghanistan, the local populace for the most part there is no national identity, and foreign fighters were the major combatants.
The problem in these wars is what actually is a win?

The Germans and the Japanese people essentially moved on as the govt changed. In Iraq and Afghanistan the elephant in the room is islam

Not shockingly the same holds true with Israel’s conflict. It’s not Israel against a country, but an ideology

The Ukranians are fighting for their country, culture.., the Russians besides for putins desires not sure except for money what they are fighting for.

Russian thinking is a difficult thing to wrap one’s head around

You might want to reconsider your comment...

And France has been part of a rotation into Romania for the past two years. Various European Armed Forces have been on the “Eastern Front” for years now.

Korea was technically still on-going, so it’s neither a win nor a loss.

As far as Vietnam was concerned, that was closer to a win on our part. We helmed the peace talks, which is usually done by the winner of a conflict. Dennis Prager made that much clear in this video, and we even were going to declare a holiday at the time: Victory in Vietnam Day. What ACTUALLY happened was that the Supermajority of Democrats took advantage of their newfound supermajority as a result of the Watergate scandal and Nixon’s resignation and backed off of our obligation to supply piecemeal aid to the South Vietnamese and thus outright sabotaged their chances. Here’s the video explaining it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hqYGHZCJwk

And if we count proxy wars where we had indirect involvement, we actually won the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan and several battles during the 1980s, firmly won (though I’ll acknowledge Afghanistan was pyrrhic due to al Quaeda’s rise).
