“Easter is approaching”....most certainly true, but east of the Bosporus we haven’t even started Lent.
Two more weeks to go...
Bible in a Year :
Out of the heart come evil thoughts . . . these are what defile a person.
Jesus said that sin begins in the heart (Matthew 15:18−20). My silence may have fooled people into thinking all was well, but it wasn’t fooling God. He knew I was hiding a heart filled with anger. I was like the Pharisees who honored God with their lips, but their hearts were far from Him (v. 8). Even though my outward appearance didn’t show my true feelings, the bitterness was festering inside me. The joy and closeness I’d always felt with my heavenly Father were gone. Nurturing and hiding sin does that.
By God’s grace, I told my colleague how I was feeling and apologized. She graciously forgave me and, eventually, we became good friends. “Out of the heart come evil thoughts” (v. 19), Jesus says. The state of our heart matters because evil residing there can overflow into our lives. Both our exterior and interior matter. .
Reflect & Pray
Jesus said that the sin in our heart defiles us. What “evil thoughts” might be defiling your heart? How can you pray regarding this matter?
Loving God, please forgive me for the sins I’ve been nurturing in my heart. I want my heart to be pleasing in Your sight. Please help me to change.
Prayers for our troops, veterans, families, allies, friends, and Canteeners
for a safe and peaceful week ahead.
He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.
God Bless our military men and women who have given their all.
Thanks, unique.
Good evening, radu, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Did you have “fun” at the museum clean up day? Are you still able to move? Did you have to wear shoes?
Clear and cold here. Lots of sunshine and melting at the mall parking lot. No parking spaces up front, so I had to navigate really carefully.
Howdy, Kathy.
Nice to see things are calming down at last. I imagine everyone up there is sick and tired of wind. It was beyond wild yesterday! Glad you didn’t have to go to the office until today.
Welcome Troops, Veterans, Families, and Allies!
God Bless You and Keep You Safe.
It’s a beautiful day up there, even if it IS cold. I noticed a little melting in a couple of the parking lots but they’re still sloppy and slick-looking. Did you have your spikies with you when you went to the office?
If one can consider cleaning “fun”, I had a lot of it. LOL The guys were in the back room all day moving vehicles into their new spots and I had the front room all to myself. I liked it that way because I can get more done when there aren’t interruptions. Everything in there is clean now and I can barely move tonight. Tomorrow is recuperation day and I’ll be back at the museum Monday morning to do the same things in the back room. That room will NOT get done in one day.
Yes, I had to wear shoes today. LOL It was a bit too chilly this morning for flip flops. I can wear them Monday though.
Howdy, luvie.
How are things down your way? The kitties still enjoying nice weather?
Hey there, radu!
They are enjoying the warmth, though it was pretty breezy this afternoon. When I went out to feed them this evening, there was not one of them out there. What a shock. Then Midnight finally showed up. I think something must have scared them.
How were things at the museum today? Are you ready to crash and burn? :)
