The Associated Press has morphed into a Berkeley-style left-wing rag. The key difference is that the Associated Press plays to a global audience of millions.
Take, for example, how the AP broke the news this week of the Supreme Court’s ruling against Colorado’s attempt to keep former President Donald Trump off the ballot. The court ruled unanimously, 9-0, that Colorado had no legal authority to bar a candidate from running for federal office. A majority of the justices added that this would in fact require an act of Congress.
Yet here is how the Associated Press reported the breaking news, which was then picked up and repeated verbatim by many of the largest and most powerful publications around the globe: “Supreme Court restores Trump to the ballot, rejecting state attempts to hold him accountable for attack on Capitol in 2021.”

It’s been decades since I took AP seriously.
The sooner they go broke the better for America.
Anything that can be done to hurry up their bankruptcy filing should be done.
They used to be liberal because of where they were educated. But they also used to be the gold standard for writing.
My wife was a reporter for 25 years. She still writes press releases and statements for a large company.
There isn’t a work day that goes by without her commenting on the absolute crap writing in news these days.
The business doesn’t attract the best any more. And those that are there are influenced heavily by social media. Believe it or not…as the old timers editors are retiring…its gonna get worse.
It’s not hard to figure out. The left took control of many of the universities in America. They churned out “journalists” and teachers who were indoctrinated. This was a feeder system of communists to the public school system and all levels of “news” reporting. As the years passed, with the indoctrination beginning K-12, the news media welcomed a flow of hardened communists.
Here we are.
AP was leftist garbage when I was a teenager—ya know back in the horse and buggy days....
