While accepting his award for Best International Film for The Zone of Interest at the Oscars on Sunday, director Jonathan Glazer spoke about the ongoing attack on Gaza, and not everyone was impressed.
Glazer's film follows the life of a Nazi commandant whose house is just outside Auschwitz concentration camp. During his speech, Glazer addressed the Israel-Hamas war.

Glazer took to the stage with producer James Wilson, both of whom are Jewish, and said: "Right now we stand here as men who refute their Jewishness and the Holocaust being hijacked by an occupation which has led to conflict for so many innocent people. Whether the victims of October 7th in Israel or the ongoing attack on Gaza, all the victims of this dehumanization, how do we resist?"
Media personality Rabbi Shmuley is one of many people who shared their thoughts on social media.
"Absolutely disgusting!! Jonathan Glazer who deserves so much credit for his incredible holocaust film "The zone of interest" which I loved, betrayed his people and disgraced himself and trivialized the 6 million martyrs of the holocaust, when he said that Israel's War in Gaza was hijacking the memory of the holocaust," he wrote.
"How dare you compare the two? You fool. The whole purpose of Israel's war in Gaza is to make sure THERE ISN'T A SECOND HOLOCAUST so we don't need more of your films because Jews actually remain alive. HAMAS HAS ONE INTENTION. GENOCIDE OF JEWS. How is it the Jews in Hollywood have absolutely no pride in being Jewish and never ever stand up for the only Jewish country on earth, Israel."

In the old days, actors were considered disreputable along with prostitutes and gamblers. The thinking was that they really did nothing productive and were always moving to the next thing. Rootless and untrustworthy.
This guy played a nazi, and at the awards he acted like a nazi.... maybe it’s some kinda Lee Strasburg method acting thing.

These Hollywood types have serious moral confusion and are self hating. You can tell that Israel is not conducting genocide on the Gazans because they do not attack Gaza except when necessary to defend itself. Even then they do not target the civilians, but Hamas who cowardly hide among them. The fact that these Hollywood types believe Hamas when they say that 30000 civilians were killed is absurd since they are KNOWN to make up these numbers. They believe them because they want to believe.
The truth is that many — certainly not all, but many — Jewish people have been what we term Leftists since at least the French Revolution and certainly since Karl Marx. Indeed, Marx was of Jewish descent even though he loathed Jews. I don’t understand why so many Jews are Leftists although I’ve read numerous attempts at an explanation.
Because secular “Jews” are JINOs and Communists first?

My Great- Grandfather was Socal Democrat of the Debs School, but very Anti- Communist. It came out of being oppressed by the Czar, and also the ideas of marx becoming popular as a way of liberation. Nonsence, of course.

If they could Glazer, Wilson and their ilk would be among the first liquidated by Hamas and organizations like it. These people are beyond fools.
Glazer thinks he has divested himself of his [accursed] Jewishness. But his poor little brain is glazed over; Hitler would have tossed him into a cattle car right next to a pious Chassid, in a heartbeat.

What has happened is that Jews after Oct 7 have been expelled from the “Friend Coalition” of the Left.
Supporting Palestinians/Gaza/Hamas is now a minimum requirement of the Left Friend Coalition.
Saying they support a Two State Solution or claiming to be opposed to the Netanyahu Gov’t isn’t enough.
Leftist Jews like Glazer are trying to buy their way back into the Left Coalition by far left positioning and repudiating their own Jewishness.
So that is what Glazer is doing. Trying to gain favour with the Left, and resume being part of the “Friend Coalition” of the Left.
But don’t think it is going to work unless they go all the way and endorse “From the River to the Sea”.
