Trump Unbonded
SteynonLine ^ | March 19, 2024 | Mark Steyn

Posted on 03/19/2024 5:15:53 AM PDT by Twotone

A dissatisfied US reader, Neil Johnson, wrote the other day to chide me for "constant bitching about the legal system (which is accurate but so what?)"

So what? Well, it's costing you your country, that's what. And don't start prancing around waving that constitution at me. A constitution is meaningless in a land without law: ask the Soviets about all their pretty-sounding paperwork. Politics is meaningless: cable pundits and radio hosts can yak about polls and policies all they want, but Democrats are pre-litigating the election because they're pretty confident it'll work for them. As I wrote a month ago, after (Democrat) Judge Engoron's decision against the (Republican) presidential nominee:

This Judge Wankeron is taking it to a whole new level. It's not very difficult, after all, to ramp up the judgment to a number it would be impossible to get a bond for.

And so it has proved. Barbara Broccoli can get herself a new Bond, but not Donald J Trump. Headline from The Daily Mail:

Donald Trump can't secure $454 million bond in the New York fraud case: Lawyers say it's impossible to come up with the cash.

I don't doubt it - and I'm only on the hook for a lousy million. Still, that's enough of a personal stake in this subject to make me one of very few commentators to have foreseen where all this was headed for Trump.

Eighth Amendment

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Clear Cut Eighth Amendment violation, and on top of that the requirement to pay the full amount in a bond makes it impossible to appeal, which is also unconstitutional.

Liberals will crap on the rights of everyone in order to attempt to “try” to get Trump. Every single American should be appalled by their behavior.

Donald Trump can’t secure $454 million bond in the New York fraud case: Lawyers say it’s impossible to come up with the cash. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Oh ye of little faith.

A federal action is going to put the brakes on this kangaroo court process.Latitia darling, as a Marxist whore, may be able to pu$$y whip due process, and the 8th amendment in New York, but she can’t cut it with the feds.

Idiots do not survive long in federal court even if they play their pu$$y whipping race cards.

Trump’s legal team is ripening their federal case by exhausting all state level possibilities for due process.

Why are you whining about it Mark Steyn?

“ Why are you whining about it Mark Steyn?”

Mostly because of the time and money he’s spent. His lawsuit dragged on for over a decade costing him tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees. Once Trump gets into the Federal system the same thing will happen to him.

That’s why he’s complaining. And he has damned good reason to.

Trump’s team has certainly planned months ago for the possible outcomes of the civil trial. The current development might be a inescapably bad one for Trump’s business.

I believe there is a plan, and it will permit Trump to continue his campaign. To me that’s all that matters. That might be all that matters to Trump.

We’re no longer a republic.

As long as that’s the case, Deep State can do whatever it think it can get away with doing.

To whomever it chooses.

The gal is not to win the case, but t9o delay the execution of these kangaroo seizure processes until after the election.

So what if its bound up for years. The STate of New York will likely have to pay all court costs, including Trumps legal fees for malicious prosecution, after being forced to abandon its lawfare case.

Yep!

Clear cut!

...what are “We the People” able to do about it?

“They shred the Constitution with impunity, leaving “We the people” with absolutely no options, short of what our founding fathers were led too following the Declaration of Independence.

...and like a holy monarch they will descend upon us with all the might they have in hand.

“We’re no longer a republic.”

Everyone went on about “democracy”, or even worse “their democracy” until it became the default word for our society. I keep trying to remind folks we live in a Republic, not a democracy. Most don’t know what a Republic is.

Look on the bright side.

The American public can’t be all that ignorant.

Deep State has to steal our elections.

Not every use of the word "democracy" is intended to define the precise form of government. In its general definition, it means nothing more than a government by the people (as opposed, for example, to a monarchy).

The world doesn't need school marms to correct its every use by insisting the we live in a "republic."

Give it a rest.

The American public can’t be all that ignorant.

A very large percentage of democrat voters across the nation would suggest otherwise.

And in the meantime Trump is writing large checks to his team of attorneys and making endless court appearances right during the election cycle.

Then why does Deep State need to steal our elections, hmmmm?

If Deep State’s base was still a lock for Deep State, it wouldn’t have to.

And it wouldn’t have to import more people to take the place of recalcitrant Dems.

Of course they have meaning. Everyone on FR knows about the "democracy versus republic" issue. Everyone.

That said, nobody likes a scold.

As long as thse appearances suit the Trump campaign, they will continue.

Trump can now appear by proxy in all his cases.

Do you think writing cheques ti attorneys bothers Trump. The only people that bothers are the RINOshitz left around at the RNC.That will soon change.

BTW, everyone can be a scold. Even me...after all, I scolded you for being a scold.

And I loathe myself for it.;-)

But I have a good excuse. I haven't had enough coffee yet.
