In many areas Shell is more expensive than most other gas stations. The only exception is a Standard station. There are Shell and Standard stations that are forced to lower their prices. One of my favorite examples is the Standard station in Winters, Kalifornia. For decades they charged well above the regular price. A few years ago, an AMPM opened up right across the street. It did not take long for the Standard prices to fall. Competition, it is a wonderful thing.

Shell’s buying in to that Obamiden B.S.? No more stopping at Shell stations for me.

They are going to stop us from traveling outside our 15 minute cities. Mark my words. That is the goal.

The wait times at charging stations should be reduced dramatically as all the queues will be at gas stations.

Where are they going to get the electricity to feed their charging stations?

From the wall socket?

Boycott them immediately to send them a shot across the bow BEFORE they do this.

Nearest EV station is 25 miles east of here. But then no one has an EV that I know of.

I can see a deal where Govt criminals love this. Yes, our citizens can be sitting ducks for 30+ minutes to criminals who like shooting fish in a barrel. Dems all for citizens being assaulted weekly. Republicans wetting their pants worrying about going against their Dem masters,

I wonder what the details are of their model. It seems like each station would require a lot of land in order to equate to current gas stations, given the hour long times for partial charges.

The World Nuclear Association is having its first big meeting this year. One of its primary missions is to locate funding for and then build nuclear power reactors around the world. They have a website even.

Hertz fired it’s ceo because he bought 100,000 electric cars and no one wanted to rent them.
Ford lost $12.5 billion and counting on electric cars and trucks plus cannot sell their gas trucks and cars as they are so expensive now as the prices have risen to subsidize the electric.

The Shell ceo and board should all be fired doing such a dumb move.

Sure, lying about one’s motivations always leads to good results. It’s just the right thing to do.

SHELL is the highest-priced gas in our area, 10 cents more than Kroger’s. $3.19 yesterday, to Kroger’s $3.09.

Hydrogen in a slightly modified diesel engine is nearly as efficient as in a PEM fuelcell both of which can use hydrogen made from sunshine at the residential level. Once high pressure PEM electrolysis cells fall into the $400 to $500 Kg of capacity it’s like having a oil well on the back 40.

Use surplus solar power from a panel set up and bank that sunshine into carbon fiber tanks for use later as electricity.running the PEM stack backwards or blow down a higher pressure tank at 300 bar into a 250 bar vehicle tank and drive with nothing but sunshine and water as raw materials and inputs. Panels can be had in bulk for 18 to 20 cents per watt of capacity.

It takes 52kWh to make a Kg of Hydrogen. That Kg has the energy equivalent LHV to one gallon of gasoline. A polysilicon panel system in sunny Texas should make 1kWh per square meter per day or more. Commercial grade panels have exactly 2 square meters of cells 120 of them total. So a commercial sized 75x45” panel will make 2 kWh per day and a 20,000 watt system will have 45 of those panels covering 968 sq feet roof area less as the panels are tilted at an angle usually equal to the latitude of the install. 90kWh is enough for 1.73 Kg of H2 used in a hybrid sedan getting 60 MPGE enough for 103 miles per day of sunshine....not to shabby for a home based set up. Or...those same 90kWh put into a Tesla model 3 would take it 500 miles at 180wh per mile typical of a Model 3 in mixed driving cycle. Clearly the EV is more efficient why? Physics first law of thermodynamics vs second law machines. Combustion always has to pay the piper and only can use the LHV minus heat losses to Sir Carnot himself. Batteries are electrochemical and only pay Gibbs and Faraday their due.
