“Who will be the next speaker if Johnson quits congress following McCarthy?”

I have zero hope for ANY GOP in the House after I watched Jim Jordan cave to Leslie Stahl on whether or not the 2020 election was stolen. Only MTG, Gaetz, and Gohmert are possibilities. But, then, MTG stood with McCarthy in his ouster. Hopeless, really.

It only matters that the Repukes hold power to prevent more Trump wit hunts. Beyond that it really doesn’t matter. They’re all sellouts in the end. They arent courageous men of valor.

He made his point? Are you serious? Sheesh, looks like you belong in congress. You’re such a wasted talent.

100 million to Ukraine with a tie in that all lawfare against the Republican nominee for President must end before any of it is delivered. Don’t want to vote for it? Too bad. I want them running on the idea that continued persecution of political opponents is acceptable, necessary even if it prevents ww3(that’s their claim, not mine). After that, go home. The country will survive congress taking a 6 or 7 month nap. If it can’t. The country is finished anyways.

If it forestalls the Ukraine sellout, I’m in favor of it.

I guess it takes a woman these days to hold the gop accountable to do what they say they ‘believe’ in less spending, etc.

If madame Marjorie gets her way, the Democrats will take the House.

Where do you lying POS keep coming from? Seems every election cycle, you freaks come out of the woodwork.

>> So what is your solution, if you have any, I am all ears.

Don’t. Bring. The. Effing. Bill. To. The. Floor.

That’s the solution — implemented by a SOTH with an America-first attitude and the balls to stand on it.

We don’t have one of those.

I was a Johnson supporter when he became SOTH. After NOT!!! using the power of the purse to FORCE change — after deviously bringing than monster of an omnibus to a vote — that faker Johnson is dead to me.

Johnson looks scared in that picture. Like someone got to him — threat or blackmail.

The only way the Democrats would think about pulling the plug on Biden is if Michelle Obama wanted to run. But, she doesn’t appear to want to.

Isn’t there some ability to simply not bring up any vote for Ukraine at all? Why can the Speaker not just bury it by sending it to another committee for “study?”

I admit to not knowing procedure, but it seems he should have control over that process, including just stopping the voting.

95% are career politicians. Their main goal is to get richer and almost all get richer in DC. So you nailed it, if they just protect Trump from which hunts, mission accomplished.

We will not know until after the convention, after Biden is nominated. He could then step aside for medical reasons or whatever, and the party PTB would chose a new team of candidates. If the polls say Biden can't win, they can execute Plan B. I do not think Michelle Obama was ever seriously considered. The primary replacement candidate appeared to be Gavin Newsom. A possible running mate could be somelike one of the Castro brothers or Henry Cuellar from Texas. In 2020, Trump won Texas by ~620,000.

If they chose to go that route, their choice of running mate could be influenced by Trump's choice of running mate.

Not really. It’s because Ukraine has the votes with or without the Speaker. As I am sure you are aware, the Rs have a majority by only a few seats and since a significant number of Rs want to give Ukraine aid, it will happen no matter who is Speaker.

Johnson does not have much leverage.

Seriously? You really think Johnson can throw out the Wisconsin dude tomorrow...just throw him out?

The Wisconsin jerk was elected and can’t just be thrown out. Can you imagine the daily chaos of the House, if members can just be tossed out?

House members can’t be impeached, but they can be expelled by a two thirds vote. That will never happen.

Johnson can at least call for a vote to expel him, just like he did for Santos.

Has Johnson explained himself passing these trash spending deals?

Seven months out of an election, the Repubs would be dumb to shoot their own.

I would go further.

Partially* stand alone bill for support to Ukraine. Must include:

No financial aid to Ukraine. That one is on the Euro's.

$3 billion in humanitarian aid materials. Again, the Euro's handle all the financials here.

$3 billion for agitprop inside Russia. Basically a 2020's version of VOA in the early '80's. (Payback is a bitch.)

Override the many Administration decisions limiting US oil and gas production and refinery production and flexibility. ORDER Admin. final approval of Keystone pipeline by Sept. 2024.

Equal cuts in non-Defense areas.* These cuts may be themselves reduced by increased revenues directly created by exports of US energy.

Value of weapons sent to Ukraine to be applied to acquisition of new / updated weapons to go into US stocks.

Accelerated program of US arms sales to Europe.

Statement of strategic objective(s).

Accelerated program of US arms production in areas presently or projected to be in a state of shortfall.

Program for cooperative strategic materials extraction / production with Ukraine, with discounts to help repay US aid.

End boastful announcements of weapons releases / shipments.

Since this bill is so late / matter should have been resolved last fall, $80 billion in weapons to be sent to Ukraine. Includes:

- Monies for shipment and training.

- 300 F-16's and 12 months supply of munitions. All operational to 2015 std's. (Must be used within 50 miles of Ukraine's 2013 borders.)

- 100 HIMARS launchers for delivery this year.

- 200 minimum, ATACMS for delivery this year. (Must be used within 50 miles of Ukraine's 2013 borders.)

- 10 Patriot batteries, at least 6 for delivery this year.

- $3 billion for cooperative drone development and production project with Ukraine.

- 75% of weapons sent are 5 yrs. old or older.

- Weapons within 2 years of expiry or scrapping are considered at no cost, but costs of refurbishment, repairs, etc., DO get figured in costs.

- Deadlines for weapons deliveries. Dept. or Cabinet heads subject to dismissal for non-performance, acts of God excluded.

*Since my proposal includes cuts in non-defense spending, etc., it perhaps cannot be considered as truly "stand alone".
