The city and state are in the planning stages to combine Chicago’s legacy homeless shelter system with its system for migrants, according to government officials, and turn it into a unified shelter structure, an idea advocates for the homeless have long championed.
The “One System Initiative” will shift a “permanent shelter management to the non-profit workforce,” Illinois Department of Human Services spokesperson Daisy Contreras said in a statement. Currently, the city contracts with Favorite Healthcare Staffing, whose sizable overtime has contributed to tens of millions of dollars in city payments to the firm staffing the city’s migrant shelters.
The state’s office to prevent and end homelessness will lead the initiative with more than 25 community-based agencies participating, Contreras said. Planning sessions are set to begin at the end of April and go through the spring.
Beatriz Ponce de Leon, Chicago’s deputy mayor of immigrant, migrant and refugee rights, said officials ultimately hope to fully transition to a unified shelter system — and look beyond shelter to affordable housing.

Exactly. Give migrant services to a corrupt, inefficient liberal big city bureaucracy and watch services get reduced to zero by sheer incompetence. This may be their secret, genius plan. Screw up the services so much that the illegals go back to the red states.
While everyone’s watching the southern border, they’re probably piping invaders in via every other orifice.
Giving them all a street address (at the shelter) makes it easier to register them all to vote. This worked with just the homeless before (even if they didn’t actually live at the shelter).
An easy way to hide that they’re spending more on migrants than on citizens.

You call them feral cats, but they will vote Democrat. Very possibly without knowing it, because someone will do it for them. Just names on a list that cannot be entirely made up, and no IDs at the polling place.
Implementing communism a piece at a time. It will all fall apart when the hard-working, productive people get their head out of their derriere and realize that they live in poverty in spite of their jobs, while the “poor” live in relative luxury, seeing that they don’t have to lift a finger to rake in the benefits.

I’m starting to believe this bogus homeless gig is more of a business for government subsidies to many are getting in on it and audits get lost.
