They believe that God sent a later prophet named Mohammed who received the Quoran throught the angel Gabriel. They believe Jesus was a prophet and not the Son of God. It's like a later addition to Judaism.

there are the 5 pillars of Islam:
there is no god before allah (aaliyah?)
one must make a journey(Haj) to Mecca once in their lifetime
one must give alms to the poor (zakat)
and two more with something like honoring parents and minor pilgrimages and the 5 prayers daily towards Mecca.
you can probably find some research on it on the web. Apparently their religion is incompatible with democracy. The largest Muslim population is in Indonesia, and you may remember the near genocide when they invaded East Timor. Shortly after several donations from the Riyadih famiily, Klintoon sold them several f-16 fighters despite Bush Sr.'s decision to not fund their aggeression.

The Muslim holy book is the Quran. Muslims believe that Muhammad was the last messenger of Allah (God) to humanity; that he was the last of the Prophets in a line which included such great prophets as Abraham, Noah, Moses, Jesus; that no new Prophets or Messengers will ever be sent to humanity; that Muhammad was a direct descendant of Abraham. True Muslims (not "Munafiqs", i.e.: Muslims in name only) believe that soon, the entire world will convert and become Muslims - some, out of pure devotion to the Prophet Muhammad, some out of fear to save themselves from the sword when the Mahdi (the predicted One) will come to purify the earth by his sword and the world government of the True Religion, Islam, shall be established, following much bloodshed and killing of unbelievers and those who refuse to recognize the One True Religion. They believe that the Mahdi is already alive today and they long for his appearance. You can read more here: Al-Imam al-Mahdi, The Just Leader of Humanity</font color>.</font size>

The small fraction of Muslims that make up the "extreme" wing (the a$$holes we're dealing with here) have convinced their frontline kamikaze workers that every "infidel" (that's us) they take out in their suicide mission in service of Allah will serve them in their afterlife.
I guess these a$$holes have it made, don't they?

Which version? The original one or the several that are followed by these lunatics?

I could give a rat's a$$I agree 100 percent. But it helps to know what motivates your enemy. These animals are a different, and I am afraid much more formidable, breed than any enemy we have had to fight before. It will take great resolve, and a commitment to a strong set of principles, if we are to overcome. It is, ultimately, the battle of good vs. evil.

One thing that these people are not is "lunatics." They are dedicated to the true Muslim faith and the teachings of Muhammad and the Mullahs. These cutthroats who hijacked those planes were trained pilots and were able to figure out how to fly a huge, very complicated passenger jet airliner with exacting precision. We underestimate them, and their devotion to what they perceive is the purity of their faith, at our peril.
