A truth nobody wants to face

It would be extremely naive to imagine that terrorists who are willing to blow themselves up in Israel or to crash a plane at the loss of their own and many other lives do so for some commendable humanitarian cause. The courage comes solely from a unique doctrine of Islam. Abu-Bakr, the first Caliph to succeed Muhammad (and one of the few to whom Muhammad promised Paradise without martyrdom), declared that even if he had one foot in Paradise he could not trust Allah to let him in. The only sure way in Islam of achieving Paradise is to sacrifice one's life in jihad. Yes, suicide is forbidden as self-murder. But to sacrifice one's life in killing infidels carries the highest reward.

And what reward does Paradise bring to the jihad martyr? He is promised a palace of pearls in which are 70 mansions; inside each mansion are 70 houses and in each house a bed on which are 70 sheets and on each sheet a beautiful virgin. He is assured that he will have the appetite and strength of 100 men for food and sex. This is the fantastic dream that is fed to Muslim boys from earliest childhood. This motivation alone gives the reckless courage and determination to train and execute terrorist deeds in which they sacrifice their lives in bringing death and destruction to "the enemies of Allah."

Your question is irresponsible, and you should know better. THERE ARE differences in religious thought.

But as Jesus said, "there is no worse person of one who does NOT want to see" (paraphrase)

Please list all the "gutter religions" so I can steer clear. (and find a better English translation, please...)

Our leaders purport to represent us yet they tell us lies about Islamic intent in order to save their own a$$e$ from a global conflagration.

Muslims are fighting our allies around the world yet we don't see a pattern here ?

If we need a world war to rid mankind of this cancer then let's do it now instead of passing the problem to our kids.

Since no one else on this thread has mentioned it, I would like to.

Dave Hunt is a major league idiot.

When I see Hunt's name attached to anything, I immediately know it's garbage.

Hunt's sole goal in life is to try to convince everyone else on the planet to believe his distorted vision of the truth. Hunt feels that everyone who doesn't believe exactly what he believes is the enemy. The Muslim's are simply the latest "non-believers" to get his focus.

Now, there's no doubt that the terrorists are motivated by their religion, but the solution to that problem is not conversion to Hunt's perverted brand of Christianity.

Maybe the version of Hell the terrorists get will be their 70 virgins--with orders to look, don't touch. For eternity!

Their vision of paradise is hell.

Consider: They're promised 70 mansions, 70 houses in each mansion and 70 virgins in each house. That's 343,000 virgins to be satisfied at any one moment. They're given the strength of 100 men to do it. That's 3,430 virgins per unit of strength at any given moment.

I didn't notice that there were any guarantees against virgin complaints included. . .

Islam is such a "peaceful", "loving" "religion". Huh, what a joke. They want to kill all Americans!

The fact is, Muhammad said he was ordered by God to fight the unbelievers. bin Laden and others believe they have the same angels speaking to them now. What is a moderate Muslim, someone who doesn't think about this day to day, someone who rejects the words of their prophet, or is it someone who cannot turn from this calling when the rubber hits the road. Perhaps this is why they remain silent except in complaints.

And therein lies the entire problem. If we're supposed to accept that the vast majority of moslems reject the standards set by bint Larden - but in fact they embrace those standards - then we are fighting a truly implacable foe. That foe is reality. And reality always wins.

I think we should stop obsessing on 'crop-dusters.' There are many ways to spread this 'stuff.'

Agreed... I didn't mean to 'obsess' on crop-dusters. In the first place, that makes it sound as though there are specific planes called "crop dusters" that we could theoretically impound to eliminate the threat. In fact every general aviation aircraft in the United States could be outfitted with suitable equipment in a matter of hours. Then there are all the ways that do not involve aircraft at all.

If these guys have a plan to do this that is as well thought out as their plan to bring down the World Trade Center towers, we are in for some Serious Horror. I think the term "World War III" understates the significance of such an event, or the reaction it would bring. I know of no method beyond prayer to prevent this from happening.

You make a good point, but you also missed a stunning truth: if there are so many Muslims, and they are really devout as everyone here wants to believe . . . why is Salman Rushdie still alive????

BTW, any plans cooking in our area to educate the many college students and otherwise misguided Nutmeggers who will be protesting against our war effort?

America is neither feared, nor respected. For quite some time, America has neither spoken strongly nor spoken softly and carried a big stick. There is virtue in periodically squashing an opponent, merely to illustrate that it can and will be done. Those that object to American militarism and strength through example are members of a Fifth Column of traitors in a dangerous world. Seeing a potential future threat to national sovereignty, it is important to eliminate that potential before it becomes too large to easily rid ourselves of. The rules of engagement, the rules of warfare, the past exercise of restraint are foolhardy tactics. Recognizing the potential threats and disposing of them, with prejudice, is a prerequisite to national and cultural survival. Those who object can be dealt with as traitors to our survival. Kid gloves are of no use to a man, or a nation, with calloused hands.

LOL! We have more important work to do than 'research', namely sending many of Bin Ladin's men to meet Allah. Remember never to cast your pearls before the swine. (Ouch)

PS: Fond memories of the discussion we had two years ago in DC regarding pitchforks. Remember?

Doesn't this sound exactly like the kind of promise Satan would make to have people do his dirty work? What kind of religion promises wealth and sex as a final reward?

This is the proverbial elephant in the living room that no one wants to see.

Senator, nobody wants to find out the next door neighbor is a child molestor or a serial murderer. We'd really rather not know.

The American Muslim situation is a little complicated, but we can analyze it briefly. The possible reasons American Muslins are not going much beyond expressing shock at the attacks and claiming Islam is a peaceful religion are:

1. They don't know what the Koran really teaches about terrorism and the murder of non-believers.
2. They are convinced that Islam will one day be the ruling class in America and they fear the "extremists" so broadly that they don't want to be on record as supporting the views of non-believers.
3. They are secretly in agreement with the "extremists" and are waiting for the time when Islam is the ruling class in America.
4. They don't fully understand the situation.

Feel free to add to the list.
