Thanks for the bump.

TGYC (good grief, what do I call you for short), thanks for waking up the thread. I've neglected it dreadfully.

I live in Klamath Falls and have followed the stealing of our Agricultural water closely. The local GOP is trying to find a solution to this ridiculous manufactured crisis before farmers loose their farms. The current ESA implementation violates the law and the constitution. The law is violated when federal contracts for water rights were broken. The 5th ammendment to the constitution was violated when a portion of the value of the local land was taken thru the current ESA implementation.

Farmers are not the only people hurt by this plan to push people off of their rural property. The local economy is sure to suffer from the loss of millions of dollars in agricultural production. We have already seen farms lost and businesses close as a result of this environmental extremism.

A solution has to be found in the short term for the farmers and our local economy. A strong precedent must be set to stave off this kind of senseless economic destruction across the country. If you think that this will never happen to your community, think again.

The kind of thinking that would clean up the mess created by the ESA across the country can be found in the Congressional Testimony of Roger Pilon, a Senior Fellow and Director at the Center for Constitutional Studies at the Cato Institute.

It’s good to get back to other stories that are just as important as the 9-11 event. We can not forget about travesties around the country. BTW what’s happening up in ID. and the money that was sent there ?

The RNC called yesterday wanting a donation and I told them that my money was being sent to the Klamath farmers until the Klamath issue was resolved.

The article above said something about the Klamath area being a natural desert before irragation was introduced. Forgive me if I'm wrong because I live in a rain forest in the southeast and maybe I don't know, but wouldn't most of California and other western states be a desert without irragation? I don't understand why they would single out Klamath Falls...what is the point of that argument...its ridiculous!

Well, I don't live in ID and haven't been personally involved with any money, but I've heard a couple things:

The relief money and supplies for Klamath were sent down two or three weeks ago, I believe I recall GrandmaC saying. Hopefully she isn't having too much trouble with the new FR format and will be able to give us an update if she finds this flag.

If you're referring to the McGuckin case, I read in my local (Seattle) paper yesterday that all charges against her have now been dropped, including the 'vicious dog' one. Her kids are still in foster care and the story said she is living in a hotel, off "a few thousand dollars" in donations while she tries to sign up for benefits. I don't know which "donations" the story refers to - I seem to recall there were three different funds.

Hope this helps.

Environmentalists have not contributed one ounce of food, nutrition, aid or help, growth, to any cause but their own miserly agenda which strangles the livelihood, free commerce, free enterprise, capitalism, industry, small and big business, legacies, liberty, freedom and the pursuit of happiness of Americans.

It is about time they are told to shut up Loud and Clear! America is fighting for it's future and these enviro-goons are standing in our way.
In my view their agenda is just as bad as any extremist group which desires to take us back to living in caves.

Thanks and good morning to you harpo11!

Jeff, congratulations on that new grandchild!

We know that you love all of your children as the great father you are.

However, when you held that new grand baby in your arms, did something new and wonderful enter your lives at that instant?

Friday evening and yesterday, our daughter in law was up with our grandkids as our son, her husband, duck hunted in the local river.

Yesterday, she and my wife got ready to go shopping. They asked our grand daughter who is 28 months old if she wanted to go shopping with them. She loves to shop and has been going since she was one week old!

She said no! "I want PaPa to go walking with SaSA (she calls herself SaSa)"!

So when her mother and my wife left to go shopping, SaSa and PaPa were standing on the side of the road waving goodbye to them!

"what is the point of that argument...its ridiculous!"

That's the point in Klamath. Every arguement on every level just does not "hold water".....pun intended! What we have here is "high desert" surrounded by marsh's.
