Thanks for the post and the ping!
Harpo has the best way to handle this. Her great skills have shown many times that our service people will need to have food grown by our American Farmers in the upcoming battle with terrorism!
I added that the green enviralist terrorists have never produced a single ounce of food for anyone at any time at any place.
This is the approach to take with our legislators in the upcoming months. We need the water to flow again for the Klamath Basin Farmers to raise the food that is needed by our service people and Americans. We can't afford not to lose $200 to $300 million in food crops while we are at war.
Katznslobber realizes that his trashing of the Oregon economy as per Andy Kerr and the ONRC and backing these enviral eco terrorists from hell against the Klamath Basin Farmers would destroy him in any election. So he has wisely withdrawn from the Senate Race! That along is a victory for America, Oregonians and a down payment for his support of the Green Nazis attempt of rural cleansing of the Klamath Basin!
The farmers will get their water when Congress realizes that this nation needs farmers, ranchers, loggers and other working Americans instead of the anti American Green Nazis ecoterrorists from hell!

Hi, fellow FReepers!
I've been on a great road trip in the South-west for the last week, and am currently visiting friends in Ashland, Oregon.
Yesterday AM I travelled through Tulelake and Klamath Falls, visited the headgates(no protesters there now), and talked to a number of locals both in CA and OR.
There seems to be a very firm concensus about the iniquity of the ESA and its supporters. I was impressed by the number of homemade signs along Highway 139-- the signs are all 'on message' and clearly demonstrate the solidarity of the community.
I pray for the eventual victory of the farmers, loggers, and others in this beautiful region.
Stop Rural Cleansing Now!

American people elected a new Republican administration to radically reform or repeal. They're still waiting.
My fear is that Bush will put his entire domestic agenda on an autopilot, which means that the liberal nanny state will continue to grow, in order to protect more and more suckers.

The government moves exceedingly slow to right wrongs inflicted bureaucratically. At least the pendulum is swinging in the right direction. Keep pushing.

Good to see Vin chiming in. It's my understanding the BOR should be making their allocation decision this month. So Gale Norton's comments may reflect the Fed's new direction but it's hard to tell.
I spoke to Joe Bair last week and he said they won't wait until spring to act. If the allocation isn't made by January 1st he said he and others would be at the headgates with iron in their hands.
This thing is not over.

Seems like bureaucrats only want to do half-a$$ed things to solve a simple problem; ie some folks have property with water rights and others want the gov & judges to take it from them.I posted this on the klamathbasincrisis.org talk forum.----The government by their actions say we own the water. They buy it from folks with wells. If we did not own it they could take it without pay.The water in the ground water table is the same water as in the refuges, canals, river, and Upper Klamath Lake. The gov. lawyer told them that for now the gov. only own the headgates. So that is why they put on the guards. The farmers nees to put in a big siphon and have water flow year round,Once in court the water rights for the farmer will be upheld.Something the gov. lawyers already know. Something the greenies in and out of gov. already know. There is a poster on this forum(klamathbasincrisis.org) that is telling us we will lose in court. Baloney. The gov. is paying for legally owned water. This is a backward admission that the water goes with the land and hence the owner. That includes contract water from the lake.THE GOV ACTIONS IN PAYING FOR THE WATER IS A LEGAL ADMISION THAT WE HAVE RIGHTS TO THE WATER---THAT WE OWN THE WATER---AS PER CONTRACT AGREEMENT.As per the government and farmers getting it to the farmers no matter the weather. In no year has there not been enough water for every body if managed right.I call my rep and Smith of Ore, and Nortons office continually and remind thekm that gov. actions is an admission that the water is the farmers. THATS MY POST ON THEIR FORUM.FReepers call Norton, your rep,etc and let them know these facts. Ten thousand calls will get this straightened out.Ed Hubel
