Multiculturalism Run Amuck in the Public Schools.

Today, I felt it upon myself to right about a very serious problem in our country. No, I'm not talking about the Taliban, bombs, biological warfare, etc., though those are some very legitimate concerns. Instead, I am refering to the rampant "multiculturalism" and "diversity" mantra that is being used through propagandic techniques in the brainwashing of our children.

As a substitute teacher, I come in contact with propagandic material on a near weekly basis. This material comes in the form of magazines, pamphlets, textbooks, and curricula that is set-aside and funded by the state.

For example, the Federal Government, in coordination with state governments and local schoolboards, publishes a quarterly magazine that deals with America's Diversity. The magazine falsifies history and talks about America's "rich culturally diverse past" (Despite multiculturalism was not tolerated pre-Clinton). I'm not talking about having various cultural backgrounds, but rather a technique being used that is having the effect of misinforming our children to the point where they may believe that many cultures have lived together in harmony all throughout America's past. Many of these same magazines feature children from various ethnic and racial backgrounds on the front cover. What I don't get, though, is why there are very few white children on these covers. I mean, they'll have higher numbers of Asian and black children in these pictures as opposed to white children which, I might say, still have a much larger share of the population than either of the above groups. In some pictures, I've seen as few as two white children, while there'll be five Asian children and four black children. I have no problem with there being different races and ethnic groups represented, but why do they have to misrepresent the numbers in these types of magazines all the time?

In pamphlets and textbooks, I have witnessed the systematic selectivity of historic events. For example, history textbooks in some fifth grade classes that I have taught fascade the entire Civil War era in a Slavery "Cloak". The whole War is shown to have originated from slavery starting with the Missouri Compromise, the Compromise of 1850, the Kansas-Nebraska Act, and the Dread Scott Decision, along with Lincoln, yet there is a total omission of states' rights, high taxes, unfair tarrifs, differences in economies, U.S. law and the Constitution, and blockading of southern ports to the point of southern weakness. I've seen time lines of U.S. History drawn up in which it is made to appear that the European settlers were the worst things to ever have come to this land, for it resulted in the displacement of Indians. In fact, I've seen some textbooks where it says that the "Indians lived a harvesting life for thousands of years until the European settlers came in and disrupted their peaceful lifestyle forever". Not exact words, but close. The point, though, is that only one side of the story is shown, and it is generally the one the Socialist elite wants your children to see. That is, it is the one that omits many facts while blurring and scewing the truth and reality.

As far as Curricula goes, this deals mostly with the government funded "diversity" education and studies/subjects that are being pushed down the throats of teachers and students. That is, many teachers have no choice but to teach the material that the state says to teach. For example, many of these "Diversity Education" subjects/programs focus on "diversity in the educational environment", "why all of us are different", "why diversity is a good thing", etc. My point about this is why pay money for something that should come naturally, or shouldn't come naturally? I mean, whatever environment a child will become exposed to will be the one that he/she becomes accustomed to. There is no reason to spend time and money on programs that will be used to brainwash many young minds. I mean, why would we need programs such as these in the mountains of West Virginia, in Montana, etc. Generally, why would you need them in areas where there is a dominant American culture? To me, it appears that there must be a hidden agenda to change America's culture, and that they are attempting to desensitize the young to the coming, forced/manufactured/non-natural change. Shouldn't assimilating be the goal? Why is E Pluribus Unum on our money if we are teaching many cultures instead of one? It's very odd, I'd say.

I am a 45-year old Mexican American and I am appalled at this multicultural deconstruction of my nation.--Havisham

Perhaps a start may be a change with your own perception to..."I am a 45-year old AMERICAN and I am...."
FReegards --Stand Watch Listen

Just stating my ethnic credentials to demonstrate that multiculturalism is an agenda of the Left and not of hyphenated Americans themselves. I'd even venture to say that non-white Americans deeply resent mandatory race or ethnic identification to government agencies and really want to see the practice completely banned. Hey, that's sounds like an ammendment a Republican House of Representatives could pass on one vote!

Crap. The only culture we should be concerned about is preserving our American heritage. Yes it is based on immigrants and we have achieved alot in the last 200 odd years. But now the immigrants are freeloaders, and scumbags with no intention what so ever of blending in , learning the language, or mores of society. These urchins have F up'd their own countries and think they can come over here and have "little Pakistan" or "little Afghanistan" etc. BS! If they do not have a employable skill and a genuine interest in our culture F! them. Kick them out. I live in a building in DC full of these miserable fucks. They can't even take their trash down to the trash shoot in a GD 1400/mo apartment complex. They just leave their trash laying all over. Not a one of them speak English unless they want you to here them talk crap about Americans. KICK THEM ALL OUT! NEVER LET THEM IN!! END IMMIGRATION NOW!!!

Why do European-American school principals and teachers so energetically pass on this fictional view of America? I've often felt that I would subvert the curriculum every chance I got with things like facts, truths, Western civilization, and the Judeo-Christian God.

It seems to be second nature - genetically speaking for a large portion of European types to embrace communism, socialism and atheism as well as new age idolatry.

Don't forget it was white Europeans who invented Communism, Socialism and the rampant new age cultural cesspool in which swim the likes of Shirley McClain and Barbara Streisand.

On the other hand, it was a defining moment of European civilization when Charles (The Hammer) Martel beat back the Moors at Portiers, France in 732. Constitutional government, leaps in technological culture and the opening of the umbrella of Christendom have propelled human civilization to new heights of achievement.

It seems there is to be a shake-out genetically speaking among all races between those who would support anarchy and atheism over any knowledge of human interaction with God, his laws and dominion.

I used to tutor kids in the public schools, and just on a practical level it was really hard for kids with reading problems to read stories in their reading books when all the characters' names in the stories were ethnic and unfamiliar to them. They would get so frustrated that I would finally just tell them to make up a name.

America has a culture that is being buried.
It really doesn't matter what our background is, it used to blend together into a distinct culture that honored our history and where those that gave their lives for it were respected and learned from. That taught our children the importance of the Constitution that insures their freedom, and God under whose principles it was formed.

Big ditto bump!
There is an AMERICAN Culture, and immigrants ADD to our tapestry. Preserve and improve the American Culture!

Ah, yes....reminds me of my son's 1st grade Harcourt Brace reader, wherein the children depicted were of all colors (which is fine) but with a serious lack of white children (which is not fine). I felt like I was being hit over the head with race every time I opened the damn thing.

The final straw was when this same reader featured an Aesop's fable with a little bio on Aesop at the end of it, in which I discovered, to my surprise, that Aesop was an African storyteller. And all these years (preceding the PC era) I was led to believe that he was a Greek.

Now we're homeschooling and never going back.

If you can believe this, in a Masters-level class we were asked 'If you could be any tree, what tree would you be?'.

Easy. Answer it this way:

Redwood. Chopped down, sawn into lumber at a sawmill, and formed into furniture sitting on someone's deck in their backyard.

The anti-Western Civilization left intentionally confuses ethnicity with culture. We certainly should be accepting of all ethnicities, but we should be very proud and protective of our culture and civilization.

Multiculturalism is a disease.

Actually he was born on the island of Samos, which is right off the coast of Turkey, but he was born a slave and told his tales to one of the Greek kings (may have been Croesus, I don't remember anymore) BUT HE WAS NOT AFRICAN.

When I complained to the teacher she referred me to the "curriculum specialist", who referred me to the textbook company itself, who had some cockamamie story about the Greeks invading Ethiopia and Aesop came from the people captured there. Nobody cared that bullshit was being put forth in the classroom.

What's really sad is that these representations may not be that far off in many parts of the US. At my school (San Diego State), there are far more "minorities" than whites. This is true of almost any school or workplace nowdays, thanks to "equal opportunity" programs.

Equal opportunity = more freebies to anyone who is not white.

Equal opportunity = discrimination against whites.

I have found very few scholarships available to low-middle class white males, even with a 3.9 GPA. I have to work to pay for school. Because I work, I have to pay taxes. My tax dollars are being given to any non-white person that asks for it, regardless of their performance. I am essentially working to pay for my schooling and theirs as well. Those who are getting a free ride on my taxes do not pay into the system at all.

Something stinks about "equal opportunity".

I agree with you. Scholarships are limited to middle class whites. This is the unfortunate reality. I graduated from college a few years ago, and I was fortunate that the state lottery paid for my education. That is, if you maintained an "A" average, your tuition, as long as it was at a Georgia public University, was free. At least the taxpayers weren't paying for it, much the same way they do through stafford and pell loans.

I ended up graduating with a 3.98. I do have to say that my "free" schooling was probably what allowed me to maintain such a high GPA, for if I had to work myself through, regardless of intelligence, I would likely have made a lower A average.

Your analysis of their being fewer whites in the work and schoolplace in the San Diego area has much to do with high illegal immigration, preference for non-European immigrants, as well as "Equal Opportunity Programs" that discriminate against whites. I agree with basically everything you've said, and it's unfortunate that it's so true.

I wish my ride were free. I may still have a 4.0 like I did through most of my college "career". I have had to work in excess of 45-50 hours a week between 2 jobs, while carrying 12-15 units, until only recently.

What really pisses me off are the kids who are benefiting from my taxes and skipping class, complaining the whole time that they have too much work. They party every weekend and would be overjoyed to get a B- in a class. >/rant<

Forgive me, but I needed to vent. I know I'll be better off in the end.

There is indeed a battle going on over how Americans see themselves. Our traditional ethos and social infrastructure are being targetted by far left propagandists, bent upon promoting the concept of an undifferentiated humanity.

Actually they have designed it to go a little further than that. By paying your 40-50% tribute to the ruling oligarchy you are funding the destruction of Western culture. I often ponder on what that oligarchy will do once all of "us" are subsumed. I am sure they must have a plan.....
