Maybe, just maybe, these pathetic s.o.b.s who broadcast the news will wake up to realize that it's not a job, it is a responsibility to report truth, justice and the American Way. The attacks in NY hit home for them. An attack at 30 Rock in his office will wake him up. Stay tuned, Freepers.

It was actually meant for him but his assistant opened it.

I think the scales fell off Dan Rather's eyes 9/11/01, but then I've gotten most of my news off the radio, so I could be wrong.

Here is the transcript:

Finally tonight, on behalf of all of us at NBC News — and especially on behalf of our colleague — thank you for your concern. She’s a rock, and she’s been an inspiration to us all — but this is unfair and outrageous and maddening beyond my ability to express in socially acceptable terms. So we’ll reserve our thoughts and prayers for our friend and her family.

Maybe now these guys will think twice about divulging troop movements, etc. to scoop their competitors.

Imagine what a blessing if the media actuawlly woke up along with America to the bankrupcy of liberal notions that a chorus of Kum-ba-ya and sensitivity training can make terrorists like us.

Yes, in some way, I'm annoyed.

When one of the unwashed masses is the victim of these freaks, it's "let's stay calm, let's not be hasty".......blah, blah, blah...............

Now, a 'super citizen' (read journalist) has been a target and now they want to warn all of us about these 'people'

Hey Tom, we've been saying it for quite some time hear.

Tune in turn on (to Free Republic), and drop out of the moronic mindset of the mass media. If you can.

Well, looks like Tom's neutrality in not wearing the American flag didn't help him none. He's still a target in someone's eyes.

Might as well wear it now, Tom...

Those stupid SOBs think that currents events are merely show business and pandering for ratings. The truth is what ever version they embrace and project..... Reality must be like an ice water enema to him.

I will believe they have seen the light when they start digging into just how much money the Rapist took to facilitate the OKC bombing, the downing of Flight 800, the Sept 11 attacks, and where the money is.

I saw it, twice, on the NBC net and again on my local NBC outlet on the eleven O'clock news.

In my opinion, Tom Brokaw was quite sincere in his anger and shock that he was a terrorist target and an assistant was the victim - "Because" - as Brokaw said - "She worked for me".
This fact appeared to really upset him, as it should have.

I realize that folks such as Brokaw are TV personalities and that we distrust them (well, I do) but although they live rather sheltered, pampered lives, I believe this brush with harsh reality may have taken the Brokaws and the Rathers (Jennings is hopeless) out of the head-up-arse posture they usually assume and awakened them to the real threat we face as a people and that it's high time to knock off the partisan sniping at President Bush and the sneering at the people and values that made this country great.

The tragic events of September 11th seem to causing some sea changes in America that will have lasting ramifications, even for the media. That's a good thing.

What do you want to bet that TommyBoy will don a makeshift ribbon before he wears an American flag? It has suddenly hit journalists! Gasp! You know they are so much more better than us mere mortals.

Let me see, if we all knew a terrorist was going to send something like that to a journalist what would we consider more important, saving the life of a journalist or interrupting what might be a high-ratings newstory? How about we give out journalists' addresses in the name of the public's right to know? Or, perhaps those journalists were just asking for it considering they did not donate the bulk of their huge salaries to terrorists.

Hey Tom, guess what? This stuff is for real! Your comfortable and safe inner world does not exist. You are just as much a target as the rest of us Americans. Your feigning objectivity was laughable during the elections, and is damn near treasonous in wartime. Hopefully that big ol' target that bin Hidin's jihadists painted on you wakes you up to the fact that "fairness" should never be extended to the truly evil.

"I have no words that are suitable for this broadcast to express my feelings for this outrage."

Now, now, Brokaw. One man's outrage is another man's "Freedom Fighting". < /Sarcasm >

Is this what it takes for you to get on the American side, Brokaw? When the terrorism hit too close to home? When it could have been you?

Yes, L'il Tommy is righteously outraged when a little horror touches one of the elites. How much outrage did he show us on 9/11?

Hey, Tom. We don't care any more (or less) about your colleague than the other victims. At least she didn't have to choose between jumping and burning, you PUTZ!

No, Tom, that's not the reason.

He also did an interview with Stone Phillips where he was even angrier.

Normally the press keeps enough distance from a story to be objective, but this lady has been his personal friend for many years and it's good to see him show his humanity.

Of all the network anchormen, he is by far the best.

Now you know how I feel after you gave that softball interview to klinton a couple days after the WTC attacks!
