A Contrast Between Mohammed and Christ

Mohammed was the prophet of war; Christ is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6-7).

Mohammed's disciples killed for the faith; Christ's disciples were killed for their faith (Acts 12:2; 2 Tim. 4:7).

Mohammed promoted persecution against the "infidels"; Christ forgave and converted the chief persecutor (1 Tim. 1:13-15).

Mohammed was the taker of life; Christ was the giver of life (John 10:27-28).

Mohammed and his fellow warriors murdered thousands; Christ murdered none but saved many (compare John 12:48).

Mohammed method was COMPULSION; Christ aim was voluntary CONVERSION (Acts 3:19).

Mohammed practiced FORCE; Christ preached FAITH (John 6:29,35).

Mohammed was a WARRIOR; Christ is a DELIVERER (Col. 1:13; 1 Thess.1:10).

Mohammed conquered his enemies with the sword; Christ conquered his enemies with another kind of sword, the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God (Heb. 4:12; Acts 2:37).

Mohammed said to the masses, "Convert or die!"; Christ said, "Believe and live!" (John 6:47; 11:25-26).

Mohammed was swift to shed blood (Rom. 3:15-17); Christ shed His own blood for the salvation of many (Eph. 1:7).

Mohammed preached "Death to the infidels!"; Christ prayed "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do" (Luke 23:34).

Mohammed declared a holy war (Jihad) against infidels; Christ achieved a holy victory on Calvary's cross (Col. 2:14-15) and His followers share in that victory (John 16:33).

Mohammed constrained people by conquest; Christ constrained people by love (2 Cor. 5:14).

Modern terrorists derive their inspiration from Mohammed and carry out their despicable atrocities in the name of his god; Christians derive their inspiration from the One who said, "Blessed are the peacemakers" (Matthew 5:9).

Modern day disciples of Mohammed respond to the terrorist attacks by cheering in the streets; modern day disciples of Christ are deeply grieved at past atrocities carried out by those who were "Christians" in name only (the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, etc.).

Many Muslims are peaceful and peace-loving because they do not strictly follow the teachings of their founder; many Christians are peaceful and peace-loving because they do strictly follow the teachings of their Founder (Rom. 12:17-21).

Mohammed called upon his servants to fight; Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world; if My kingdom were of this world, then would My servants fight . . .but now is My kingdom not from here" (John 18:36)

Mohammed ordered death to the Jews (see A.Guillaume, The Life of Muhammad, Oxford University Press [1975], p. 369); Christ ordered that the gospel be preached "to the Jew first" (Rom. 1:16).

The Koran says, "Fight in the cause of Allah" (Qu'ran 2.244); the Bible says, "we wrestle not against flesh and blood" and "the weapons of our warfare are not carnal" (Eph. 6:12; 2 Cor. 10:4).

The Koran says, "Fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them" (Qu'ran 9.5); Christ said, "Preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15).

The Koran says, "I will inspire terror into the hearts of unbelievers" (Qu'ran 8.12); God inspires His terror into the hearts of believers (Isaiah 8:13).

The Koran (Qu'ran) is a terrorist manual which condones fighting, conflict, terror, slaughter, and genocide against those who do not accept Islam; the Bible is a missionary manual to spread the gospel of peace to all the world (Rom. 10:15).

Mohammed's Mission was to conquer the world for Allah; Christ's mission was to conquer sin's penalty and power by substitutionary atonement (2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Pet. 3:18).

Mohammed considered Christ a good prophet; Christ pronounced Mohammed to be a false prophet (John 10:10; Matt. 24:11).

Mohammed claimed that there was but one God, Allah; Christ claimed that He was God (John 10:30-31; John 8:58-59; John 5:18; John 14:9).

Mohammed's Tomb: OCCUPIED! Christ's tomb: EMPTY!

Your observation are correct--as far as I am given to know--but we are now dealing with an Evil of "Old Testament Characteristics," devoid of the subtleties of the New Testament, coarse & Brutal in its evil, unconscious of the value of Human Life (other than Fundamantalist Islamic Human Life), utterly ignorant of Human Worth or Potential.

We are dealing with developmental Adolescents from "Lord of the Flies!"

Too Many Innocents will die if we assume that our "adversaries" have ANY religious principles. We are dealing with deranged, deformed, ignorant souls--'called by BOTH the Old & New Testaments--"EVIL!"

..."are we any better than them?"

One would HOPE so---!

So, if Creatures from another Star System came to our Planet & decided that by destroying the WTC, the pentagon, & the White House, they could "create an environment" favorable to their "Agenda," should we "Forgive them their Transgressions," & "Treat with them as 'EQUALS??'"

The Taliban--"Al-Quada"--do NOT regard us as "Human Beings." TO THEM, we are "Vermin!"

We are NOT in a "Battle," "Mano-e-Mano..."---we face an "Enemy" which regards us as SubHuman!

THINK ABOUT THIS!

We are NOW in a fight for our VERY EXISTENCE!

We can only HOPE that GOD is "on our side!"

Thanks for the flag, Sabe. I hope the post doesn't get deleted for "intolerance against the faith of love." Why just today, I saw a long letter in my community newspaper, by a member of a humanitarian group, demanding that Americans embrace all Muslims.

How about the contrast between Buddha and Confucius? In a street fight between the two, who would win? I am talking about a no-holds barred street fight without any supernatural stuff allowed. At first glance it appears that Buddha would win since he has more body weight. However, in the final analysis I think that Confucius would be the victor in such a street fight because he knows all those kewl Kung Fu moves.

What mortal speaks for the whole of Christendom today? Who is the absolute authority as to what is "Correct" in Christian doctrine or belief?

I would like to see someone write a contrast between the Christianity of Christ and the Christianity of Saint Paul. It would be equally shocking.

There is no contrast. I have read the New Testament many times, and the Old Testament as well. There is no contrast from Genesis to Revelation. There have been some misinterpretations along the way, but there is no contrast.

Remember one thing when you read the New Testament. Jesus didn't come to teach what the Jews already knew to be correct, He came to correct them where they were wrong. It wasn't a new religion, just a course correction for the worship of G-d by His people.

That and the sacrifice that makes our peace with G-d possible.

Shalom.

Sounds to me like an argument could be made from this scripture reference that America's war is un-Christian, and that being a good Christian means being PC.

When you read the Bible you need to consider what instruction is given to governments and what instruction is given to individuals. The government has a G-d given responsibility to secure the peaceful life of its people. Individuals have a G-d given responsibility to reach out to other individuals in the name of Jesus. The first verse to which you refer was given to individuals.

As for doing what appears right to everybody (a pretty bad translation), Christians are supposed to be sensitive to others so they should be willing to be PC where such sensitivity actually speaks to the needs and concerns of others. However, much of today's PC isn't about the needs and concerns of others, it's about political power. Christians are to focus on the real, not the artificial.

It is much easier to understand the Bible if you know the author. Do you know Him?

Shalom.

Mohammed is an antichrist. There are many antichrists, and they will continue to deceive until Christ establishes His kingdom.

Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

Jesus FORGAVE those that killed him. We need to do the same, or many people will perish.

Luke 23:34 Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

Luke 11:50-51 Therefore this generation will be held responsible for the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the beginning of the world, from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, this generation will be held responsible for it all.

Which one was the "real Jesus?" Both, of course.

Jesus prayed that G-d would forgive. G-d judges at the end of time. Justice will be met then. G-d will forgive or not forgive as He wills at that time. Nothing that happens to an individual between now and then represents G-d's judgement on that individual.

However, Jesus also knew that the Jews of that time would pay for their hard hearts. Their hearts had become so hard that they couldn't recognize G-d's own Son and Messiah when He was standing right in front of them performing deeds of power the like of which had never been performed before. G-d would punish the nation, but more importantly, the nation's hard hearts would punish themselves. G-d forgave David, but David's kingdom still suffered for his sin with Bat Sheeba. It is always so and it will always be so.

I can pray that G-d will forgive Osama bin Laden.

I can also pray that there won't be enough pieces of him to bring to trial by the time our Marines are finished with him. Both are Biblically reasonable views.

The Bible is easier to understand if you know the author. Do you know Him?

Shalom.

"I would like to see someone write a contrast between the Christianity of Christ and the Christianity of Saint Paul. It would be equally shocking."

Since you believe in this, why don't you take a stab at it? Of course, this would mean that you would actually have to read the New Testament, an act that would show you just how groundless your claim is!
